Screen Rant video editor extraordinaire Mike Eisenberg has been tickling the magic video elves once again  and this time he messed with the trailers for two of the biggest, most anticipated movies coming out this summer – Inception and Toy Story 3.

The last time Mike got his hands on some movie trailers, he came up with the Ultimate 2010 Summer Movie Trailer which really got people pumped for the upcoming summer movie season. If you haven’t had a chance to join one of the almost 250,000 people that have watched the video on YouTube, then don’t miss this opportunity to watch it NOW.

Mike has taken the audio for the latest Inception trailer and edited it together with cut scenes from all of the Toy Story 3 footage that has been released so far. He even assigned characters from Toy Story 3 to play the characters from Inception. Here’s the list for you to keep up:

  • Ken – Leonardo DiCaprio (Cobb)
  • Lots-O’-Huggin’ Bear – Michael Caine (Professor)
  • Barbie – Ellen Page (Ariadne)
  • Woody – Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Arthur)

The results are both cool and humorous, with the exploding elephant being my favorite part. Enough chat; watch for yourself and prepare to chuckle:

If you're unfamiliar with what Inception is about, here's the plot synopsis:

Dom Cobb (DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb's rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible inception.

Inception is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Ken Watanabe, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page, Cillian Murphy, Tom Berenger and Michael Caine.

The other half of the above trailer of course comes from Toy Story 3, where Pixar brings back our favorite 3D animated toy characters in another comedy adventure.

Toy Story 3 characters Ken, Barbie, Lots-O'-Huggin' Bear, Woody

Woody, Buzz, and the rest of their toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, departs for college. Although at first excited by their new surroundings, and the seemingly friendly toys who also live at the centre, it isn't long before they become determined to return home - a resolution shared by Andy, who begins to realize that his toys always have a place in his heart.

Toy Story 3 stars the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, Ned Beatty, Michael Keaton, Don Rickles, Timothy Dalton, Joan Cusack, Whoopi Goldberg, Bonnie Hunt and John Ratzenberger. You can get a better look at all of the new toys in our Toy Story 3: A Guide to the New Toys.

What did you think of the Inception/Toy Story 3 trailer mash-up and which of these two films are you most looking forward to watching?
