That fight scene in Oldboy is fantastic, and is one of my favorite things that a director can do in movies. The coordination it takes to pull of these types of scenes is unbelievable. For some other great one take scenes, check out,The Protector,Atonement, and of course they do it 2 times in Children Of Men,with the last scene being just truly breathtaking.

I love Oldboy and I loved this homage to it. Milo Ventimiglia was fantastic. If they do a remake, I'd hope they'd consider him, but probably won't. I also thought Milo Ventimiglia would have made a great Terry McGinnis if they ever got to a Batman Beyond film. With maybe an older looking Bale as Bruce Wayne. It would be sweetness...

an uncut action scene is always great to see in film, when executed well. I have to say the 4-minute uncut action scene by Jean-Claude Van Damme in the beginning of JCVD is a favorite of mine(even as a satire of his own action films).

There can't be many fight scenes where the hero has to stop for a breather halfway through (with a knife sticking out of his back)...

Although I really did enjoy Oldboy, and found it to be the best out of the Vengence Trilogy, the fight scene is really not that special.
It was gritty, but really when you dissect it, all it was just letting the camera roll without cutting and just FOLLOW the action.
It really tells you what the MTV-style, Fast-editing has done to Action scenes, because basically the Oldboy fight scene is just like watching someone play a level of Streets of Rage.

That was fun. :D

One big difference I found was the space they did that in was much bigger than in Oldboy. There you really felt the intensity as was a narrow corridor and so there was no room to move. It was just go right through them.

Not sure about Ventimiglia in the role. Especially not with that wig! (least I hope that's a wig).

Loving the original "Oldboy" I am of course skeptical of a remake of a movie that's only a few years old. But hopefully a remake will at least push people to see the original first. The re-enactment was a bit funny and cool though.
