Burger King is attempting to scare up late-night business with a new ad campaign.

The ads, which feature headline characters from film’s greatest horror franchises, are meant to highlight the restaurant’s late night hours.

Each ad features a different villain (Jason, Chucky, Freddy Krueger, or the Scream Killer) satisfying their hunger… for food - after a long night of… well, you know.

Tonic, an advertising agency based out of Dubai, is in charge of the campaign:

“Thomas and Kris came up with the following campaign showing the villains of the night that we know all to well, enjoying their favourite meal after a umm night out. The ads were shot in South Africa and Dubai by French photographer Ben Dauchez and retouched by Thomas himself. A job well done! The series comprises of four ads which will run in press and outdoor.”

The advertising campaign is certainly humorous and each print is extremely clever. Though, it is a bit surprising that any fast food restaurant (which are often blamed for offering products that kill patrons over time) would approve of a marketing campaign that ties them to murderous psychopaths.

That said, Burger King’s primary “The King” ad campaign is probably far more terrifying than most classic horror films.

Think I’m kidding, don’t you remember the fast-food inspired horror short film King in a Box produced in 2006? [Warning - Explicit Content]

What do you think of the new ad campaign? What other horror villains would you like to see added to the campaign?
