sr tv logos asks What TV Shows Do You Want More Coverage Of?

We here at Screen Rant are here to cater to you, the reader. Now, that doesn’t mean that I’m going to be bringing over any freshly baked ice cream cone cupcakes (remember those? Awesome.), but that does mean that we like to hear from you about what you like, what you don’t, what you watch and what you’d like to see more coverage about.

Over the past few weeks of the fall season premiere, we have played around with reviews and discussions on a variety of television shows – and while some received the expected responses (Stargate, Flashforward, Smallville), others did not (CSI, CSI:NY, Criminal Minds, MythBusters). And then there were some shows that nobody expected to receive the amount of response it did (Ghost Whisperer).

If we went with writing about the top rated shows, we’d be left with this…

NCIS
Dancing with the Stars
NCIS: Los Angeles
The Mentalist
CSI
Grey’s Anatomy
Desperate Houeswives
CSI: Miami
The Good Wife

While I know a couple Screen Rant writers that just love Dancing with the Stars, we’re not sure that you’d want to read about it. I’m not going to lie, we watch our fair share of television and that means we have the ability to cover many of your favorite shows. The only thing is, we don’t know what you favorite shows are or if you’d want to read more reviews/recaps/discussions of those shows. So, instead of staying the course and writing about shows that are our favorites, we’d like to know what yours are.

If you could list the top 5 shows you’d like to see recaps and discussions on, what would that be? Now we’re not talking about regular news. If James Earl Jones decides to join Cougar Town, you’ll probably hear about it.

For all you manly men out there, don’t’ be afraid to say The Hills or The City. Sure, we’ll mock you for it, but this is all about being open and honest and from my experience there’s usually fair amount of mocking in being open and honest. Especially when it’s about your favorite MTV scripted “realty” TV shows.

So, what have you? What 5 shows would you like to see recaps and discussions on?

  1. I only have one: Supernatural
Any type of increased coverage for that show would be highly appreciated, thank you.

I can’t really think of another show right now but if I do I’ll tell ya. PLEASE no reality show or non-show ( like the Hills) coverage. I think that’ll kill me.

Aw, no freshly baked ice cream cone cupcakes.
    :[

  2. My picks…
    1. Supernatural
    2. Psych
    3. NCIS
    4. Fringe
    5. Chuck

  3. Screen Rant has been quite dedicated in its coverage of Supernatural.
I would like to see continued coverage of the CSI Franchise
    and Criminal Minds.
There is going to be a crossover trilogy of with LawrenceFishbure investigating a cse that takes him to Miami and New York.
Also Criminal Minds has its 100th episode coming up.
    Not weekly coverage ,
    but covering key episodes .
AndI would like to see coverage of miniseries events Like Syfys ThePhantom , or AMCS The Prisoner.
These andProject like Syfys new Riverworld project are potential series waiting to happen,
Those are my picks for now.

  4. Obviously ,I meant Lawrence Fishburne.
    Sorry about that.

  5. well my tastes are varied and obviously open to ridicule, nevertheless:

    1) Castle
    2) FlashForward
    3) Fringe
    4) Defying Gravity (yeah, I know)
    5) Eureka
    6) Warehouse 13
    7) Torchwood
    8) MythBusters
    9) Dirty Jobs
    10) Japanese Anime news

I tried to stay away from the reality programming stuff, but Mike Rowe and the Mythbusters crew do keep me thinking and entertained. The Amazing Race is kinda self explanatory, so why bother.

  6. Chuck, NCIS LA, CSI….those id love to hear more about…would be cool if they had websites from the companies telling side tales about the stars sort of like USA has been doing with monk and psych a little bit…web only content too that they could make into special features on dvd…

  7. Legend of the Seeker! Leverage!

  8. I stick with NCIS, The Mentalist and Flash Forward. When does
    V start? that looks decent.

  9. CRIMINAL MINDS, and particularly Shemar Moore!

  10. Pysch and Mythbusters are great. Psych gets no love from the TV world and it really should.

  11. I say ignore all reality shows, House, the new V, can’t think of anything else, everything else I watch is on Discovery/History/TruTV…

  12. Big Bang Theory :-)

  13. I am new to SR but I assume you cover LOST? It is off season right now, so I don’t really know.

You already cover SGU, Flashforward, and Heroes. So you are hitting all the shows I watch.

  14. Let me put another vote in for Castle.
    GREAT SHOW!!!!!

  15. House, most defintely, Fringe, Lie to me

  16. House
    30 Rock
    The Office

I’m not into spoilers though. But I’d love to read other stuff about these shows! I never see anything about them.

  17. FlashForward
    Fringe
    The Mentalist
    House
    NCIS

  18. These are shows I watch Supernatural, Heroes, Lost, Flash Forward, How I Met Your Mother, Trauma, True Blood, Mercy, Smallville, Community, The Office, park and recreation.

  22. 5.world series of poker
    4.heroes
    3.xplay

  23. Sons of Anarchy
    Dexter
    True Blood
    Castle
    Warehouse 13
    Torchwood
    Doctor Who

  24. Monk is an especially good idea .
It is The Final Season after all.

  25. 1) Flash Forward
    2) DollHouse
    3) Supernatural
    4) Lie to me
    5) Chuck

Bonus: Modern Family… This show is freaking hilarious

I watch most of my shows online, or on DVD but this season has me turning on my TV more and more….

  26. What I want to read about:
    1. Supernatural
    2. Dexter
    3. Psych
    4. Criminal Minds
    5. FlashForward

  27. Definitely enjoy the Chuck coverage! Sadly I’ve missed it for the last year.

    my list is short.

    1. Chuck
    2. Futurama! It’s coming back! If Fox would quit screwing around with it (again!).
    3. okay… bear with me… It’s gotten away from it’s PG-13esqe beginnings, and gone more absurd and esoteric, but I really like the Venture Brothers. I definitely would not let the kids watch it though!
    4. Dirty jobs! I second the vote.
    5. This will also sound weird, I might get picked on for this, but check out Dinner:Impossible on Food Network. I know, it’s reality, but it’s non-offensive to the senses.

  28. I’ve seen a lot of people echo my thoughts on what shows I’d like to see talked about more:

1.) Psych. One of the most criminally undervalued tv prospects around. It’s not about the plots, it’s about the pure character chemistry and the comedy that comes directly out of that. The lead duo have perfect comic timing. It also has one of the best TV themes going around as well. Gets great guest stars to boot. Corben Bernsen is brilliant as well. This show is brilliantly funny, and always puts me in a great mood, from the theme song to the out-takes at the end.

2.) Dirty Jobs: Certainly not under-watched. It deserves its attention for two reasons. It highlights jobs that many tend to either look down on unjustly or don’t even realize exist and yet are critically important. Secondly, anything with Mike Rowe is instantly watchable. If you don’t believe me, check out any of the Deadliest Catch knock-offs and how lackluster they seem in comparison. Seriously, any show that has the (literal) cojones to show the host castrating sheep with his teeth and makes you laugh and retch at the same time has to be doing something right. We experience the jobs through Mike and he makes it instantly accessible.

3.) Deadliest Catch. The originator that the imitators can’t compete with. As mentioned, it’s in part due to the narrator, but just as important is that the guys they’ve got on camera seem to have more of a camaraderie going on than the other shows. More than any other of this type of show, Deadliest Catch treats the people they document as individuals with very different personalities that we come to understand.

4.) Mythbusters. There’s a reason for this show’s longevity, and again, it all comes down to personalities. Adam and Jamie are the perfect “odd couple” to host an off the wall show like this. Again, there have been other shows that have tried to mimic this show’s popularity on Discovery channel, but failed to replicate its popularity simply because the personality is missing.

  29. Smallville
    Supernatural
    Heroes
    Fringe
    House
    Lost
