Robert Rodriguez recently revealed his intention to reboot his own Spy Kids franchise. Now, Dimension Films has officially announced an August 19, 2011 release date. It will be entitled Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World, even though the cast will be entirely new. Rodriguez told Coming Soon this reboot would have “different kids, not the old kids.”
Rodriguez is keeping himself busy as producer for the upcoming Predators remake and director of Machete. He has been open about his love for the Spy Kids franchise, commenting on the adoration of families for his work and his passion to continue to produce enjoyable material for adults and kids.
2011 will be quite the year for family-friendly blockbuster sequels, with Kung Fu Panda: The Kaboom of Doom, Cars 2: World Grand Prix, Transformers 3 (arguably family friendly), Harry Potters and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, Spy Kids 4: All The Time In The World, Happy Feet 2, and Alvin and the Chipmunks 3D.
They’ll fight you for their franchise
