It’s being reported all over the place (although at this time it’s strictly rumour) that Spiderman 3 will not have one or two, but four villains.
The word is that the villains will be: Sandman, Hobgoblin, Vulture and Venom.
Personally, I think this is a load of B.S. as the latter three have a very deep history in the Spiderman mythos. I can see perhaps having one villain along with Sandman, who I think has always been a bit of a second-rate bad guy, but it would be awful if they tried to cram Hobgoblin, Vulture and Venom storylines into one film. It would do none of them justice and would dilute their characters.
This is probably just internet-rumour-mongering at it’s best. If it’s not a rumour, it’s a really bad idea IMHO.

I can see there being 3 villians, but not 4. Volture wasn’t even set up in the first two movies. Of course neither was Sandman, but we all know Sandman will be fricking cool. Should be interesting to see. BTW, anyone know what role Topher Grace is playing?

Possibility: One or two of the villains mentioned will only be “introduced” at the very end of Spidey-3 to set up Spidey-4 (?)
Similar to “Batman Begins” setting-up The Joker at the end. That wouldn’t be too bad… would it?
BTW: Venom HAS to have his own movie/story line… There’s too much of a great story, from origin to full-fledged Spidey-hater, to wrap it up quickly. (Can anybody say, “Maximum Carnage?”)

Ok if this movie does have 2 villians do you think that Sandman and Venom will end up joining forces and *TRY* to kill spiderman and what is it with the rumor of MJ Dieing at the END?
CJ, I hadn’t thought about that. From what I know, Venom doesn’t seem to be a “team-up” kind of guy, but things can always be different in the movies.
I had heard the MJ rumour, and that could be way Gwen was being brought in, but I don’t know how much validity there is to that.
