To kick things off today, IGN poses the question, “Can The Dark Knight Rises Open Bigger Than The Avengers?” This is a question I never thought I’d be asking myself at the beginning of the year when looking ahead. I thought The Avengers was going to do well at the box office and make some money – but I had no idea it would be competing with Titanic and Avatar for the top spots as the highest-grossing movie of all time. I’m now unsure whether The Dark Knight Rises can come close to The Avengers‘ total. We shall soon see.
