Spider-Man 2099 officially joins the team in this awesome Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 fan poster. In 2018, Sony released their first Marvel animated flick with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, a colorful blast of comic book excellence that wowed fans and critics alike. Into the Spider-Verse introduced audiences to Miles Morales (Shameik Moore), a normal teenager who is one day bitten by a radioactive spider and gains new abilities. Thanks to some multiverse-mingling shenanigans, Miles soon discovers he isn't alone, as he meets a slew of other Spider-People from different realities.

Into the Spider-Verse was a big hit when it was released, so it wasn't surprising to hear Sony is moving forward with a sequel. Into the Spider-Verse 2 went into production last year and is slated for release in late 2022. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but fans are expecting to see a bunch of new additions to the Spider-Verse, such as Japanese Spider-Man and Silk. Additionally, the post-credits scene for the first film teased the arrival of Spider-Man 2099, aka Miguel O' Hara (Oscar Isaac), leading fans to wonder if he'll play a large part in the sequel.

With that idea in mind, two artists collaborated on a new fan poster for Into the Spider-Verse 2 imagining Spider-Man 2099 teaming up with some new and old faces. NOVA and venomhology designed this delightful poster featuring Miles and Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld) as they join forces with others like Spider-Man 2099 and Japanese Spider-Man. Needless to say, this is a lineup we'd love to see play out. Check it out down below.

Into the Spider-Verse 2 appeared to tease Spider-Man 2099's presence in the sequel at the start of this year, when two pictures of the futuristic hero were shared on social media with a countdown to the movie's release. Spider-Man 2099 hasn't been officially confirmed for Into the Spider-Verse 2, though Isaac's casting makes one think Sony has more plans for the character. Unfortunately, as Into the Spider-Verse 2 is still so far away, it's hard to say when there will actually be more concrete information about the highly-anticipated sequel.

Nevertheless, it would be really exciting to see Spider-Man 2099 team up with the likes of Miles and Gwen. Depending on whether Peter B. Parker (Jake Johnson) will return, the two young heroes could use a new mentor, and Miguel would fight the bill perfectly. There's still plenty of time to speculate about what's in store for Into the Spider-Verse 2, and fans will surely enjoy coming up with their theories. Hopefully, when all is said and done, the finished film will resemble something close to the above poster.
