A new piece of promo art for Spider-Man: Homecoming gives the clearest look yet at Peter Parker's homemade Spidey suit. Rebooting the iconic web-slinging superhero with a high school-aged Parker going through coming-of-age experiences, Spider-Man: Homecoming also features Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark acting as something of a mentor for the titular hero. One of Stark's newest creations is expected to be a brand-new suit for Parker to don as Spider-Man that will come with plenty of upgrades.

Spider-Man's new suit from Stark is expected to boast all kinds of high-end technology, similar to Iron Man's J.A.R.V.I.S. But when Spidey doesn't have access to the massively upgraded suit, he fashions his own out of what appears to be just cheap, ragged cloth. The homemade suit, like all of Spider-Man's suits, will generally play a big role in the plot of Spider-Man: Homecoming -- and a new piece of promo art for the movie has surfaced online that gives a strong, clear glimpse at how it will appear.

As reported by CBM, a new piece of promo art from Marvel Collector Corps has been released that gives a detailed look at Spider-Man in his homemade suit. There's the strongest look yet at his gloves and wristbands, as well as one of the first looks at Spider-Man with the hood of the suit pulled over his head. CBM noted that the hood appears to be inspired by Ben Reilly, a clone of Spider-Man that has sporadically appeared in the comics since 1975.

Marvel Collector Corps - Spider-Man: Homecoming Homemade Suit

Tom Holland said in a recent interview with Screen Rant that he enjoyed performing in a particularly funny sequence involving the visual technology of his new suit, but was hesitant to answer a question about the homemade suit. The Stark-created high-tech Spidey suit boasts plenty of other features, like a complex web slinging system and a heater. The homemade suit, of course, includes none of that.

It's unclear exactly how Spider-Man's homemade suit will be woven into the plot of Spider-Man: Homecoming, but it will likely carry major thematic implications between Parker and Stark. Marvel is not holding back in its promotion of Spider-Man's appearance in his red and blue rags, so it's clearly a suit that will make more than just a quick cameo. It's possible that Spider-Man will face a significant test against a formidable foe in his homemade costume, without all the advantages of Stark's high-tech suit.

Plenty of emphasis has been placed on the suits to be worn in Spider-Man: Homecoming, but the important thing is not the suits themselves but the character inhabiting them. Whether he's in sweats or a gadget-filled super-suit, Parker's character arc will be paramount to the development of this new Spider-Man tale. Holland's performance and the writing of his character will need to be compelling for the suits to be entertaining, but the young actor's brief appearance in Captain America: Civil War should breed confidence that he can deliver in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
