The latest Spider-Man: Homecoming featurette provides fans with an inside look at the new film and breaks down the elements of the movie with the cast and crew. Though Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is still in theaters, Marvel have firmly turned their attention towards their second offering of the year. After debuting in Captain America: Civil War, Tom Holland will get the chance to play the third live-action Spider-Man in less than two decades when Homecoming hits theaters next month. Aside from providing insight into the youngest Avenger’s world, it’ll be a fresh take on the MCU thanks to its focus on home life and school.
The imminent arrival of the film has also meant that the promotion machine is in full effect. Thanks to the marketing for the film, we’ve seen a fun Homecoming TV spot centered around the NBA finals and even been given an all-Robert-Downey-Jr version of the movie’s poster. On top of that, a number of featurettes and behind-the-scenes videos have emerged in an effort to hype up audiences for the big summer film. A recent one showed off Spidey’s hi-tech new suit, while another put the spotlight on Holland’s favorite prop. Now, we’ve got the biggest one yet.
Disney XD have released a 22-minute featurette with Holland and his costar Zendaya discussing and breaking down all things Homecoming. Having aired on Disney XD this past weekend, the special look at the movie was part of the channel’s focus on Zendaya (who has a history with the Mouse House). While we now know who Zendaya is playing in Homecoming, this featurette keeps the focus on her character’s personality and interactions with Holland’s Peter Parker.
The video also features a bunch of interviews with the Homecoming cast and crew, including Iron Man 1 & 2 director Jon Favreau (back playing Happy Hogan), Tony Revolori as an updated Flash Thompson, and producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal along with the film’s director, Jon Watts. In addition to getting more insight into the process of bringing Spider-Man into the MCU, we see some new scenes from Homecoming here and get a glimpse at some behind-the-scenes footage.
Along with the new featurette, recent weeks have brought a number of cool looks at the movie; just earlier today, we got to see fresh Spider-Man: Homecoming concept art, teasing the journey from vision to reality. With a month to go before the film hits theaters, the marketing push for Spider-Man: Homecoming isn’t over yet, either.
