The promotional push for July's Spider-Man: Homecoming continues with a new Spidey-centric cover for the latest issue of Empire Magazine. Spidey is competing with a big line-up of summer superheroes, including the current box-office king Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2,, the upcoming Wonder Woman, and of course, Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. Early opening weekend projections for Homecoming have the Marvel/Sony production opening at $135 million.

Last week Empire Magazine revealed a limited edition, subscriber-only cover for the new Spider-Man film, featuring exclusively-commissioned artwork by Marvel artist Alan Davis. It has now been revealed by the movie magazine that Spidey, as depicted in the film, will appear on the cover for its regular run. The special Summer 2017 issue (#337 ) of Emipre hits everywhere magazines starting this Thursday, May 18th.

As portrayed by Tom Holland, Empire's cover highlights Spider-Man in the cool new Stark Industries created suit. So far, we've seen enough footage and images to understand that as cool as the outfit is, there's a point in the story where Tony Stark needs to take back the suit. With great suits come great responsibility, after all. That hasn't stopped Sony's marketing from featuring the slick new duds in the Spider-Man: Homecoming print campaigns.

Striking a pose on top of a New York City subway train in what looks to be Queens, our favorite friendly neighborhood Spider-Man sports a pair of bluetooth headphones. In the background is the New York City skyline, with of course the fictional Avengers tower just to the right of Sony's real-life Manhattan headquarters. A subtle spider web frames each corner of the cover, and a headline reads "New Spidey! New Suit! New York! On Set With The Kid Avenger."

The 146-page magazine will have an eight page report from the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, as well as coverage of eagerly-awaited entertainment behemoths Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Transformers: The Last KnightThor: Ragnarok, and Twin Peaks. The new Spider-Man film will hit UK cinemas July 7th, the same date as North America.

Spider-Man: Homecoming follows the events of Captain America: Civil War and excitement continues to build, ahead of its release. As always, check out the latest Spidey news here on the site, including the recent image reveal of The Tinkerer, information about Tom Holland's Spider-Girl hopes, and 15 amazing things you didn't know about one of the greatest comic book heroes of all time.
