Tom Holland knows which Avenger he'd like to see Peter Parker team up with after Spider-Man: Homecoming. And with less than two more weeks to go until Homecoming is released in theaters around the world, Holland isn't the only one wondering where his Peter Parker might go in the future. Picking up with Peter just after the events of Captain America: Civil War, the film follows the character as he continues to fight crime -- both big and small -- throughout his beloved New York City while continuing to learn from his newfound genius superhero mentor -- Tony Stark/Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.).

The two characters established a relationship quickly in Civil War last year, and as such, it wasn't long before Marvel and Sony were able to sign Downey Jr. on for a role in Homecoming. However, it was recently revealed that Downey Jr. will not be returning for the already-announced Homecoming sequel film, which will be the first MCU movie to hit theaters after 2019's Untitled Avengers 4, even though it will still feature another Marvel veteran in a prominent role. The news was understandably surprising (for a number of reasons), but ever since then, fans have been busy throwing out possible characters for Peter to team up with in the film.

During Screen Rant's recent junket interview with Tom Holland for Spider-Man: Homecoming this weekend as well, we took the chance to see who he -- out of the rest of the remaining Avengers -- he would most want the chance to work with, in the Spider-Man sequel film:

Ant-Man Paul Rudd Scott Lang

"I don’t know that Iron Man’s not going to be in the sequel. Who told you that, I didn’t hear that."

That was the report.

Yeah, y’know, press is press. But yeah, Ant-Man would be my favorite. I want to have like a bug bros session. I think it’d be really cool."

Holland certainly isn't the only one who's been wanting to see he and Ant-Man team up in a film together. In fact, after the two characters briefly battled each other during the airport scene in Captain America: Civil War, many fans were calling for more "bug bros" moments in future films. Considering the comedic aspects of both characters, it's easy to see why the team up would work on a number of levels -- aside from just the fact that both characters' superhero personas are related to bugs.

At the same time, it's entirely possible that Paul Rudd and Tom Holland could share some scenes together in next year's Avengers: Infinity War, which Holland has been busy filming scenes for off-and-on for the past few months. That's an even more believable possibility when considering that, as of right now, Downey Jr.'s role in the MCU post-Avengers 4 is completely uncertain at this point. So if that film does indeed wind up being the last MCU movie to feature Downey Jr., then Peter will be in need of a new partner-in-crime/mentor, and it's hard to think of someone that could work better onscreen with Holland than Paul Rudd.
