Spider-Man: Far From Home will reveal the origins of the movie's giant rampaging Elementals, one of the film's producers has confirmed. Following on the heels of the massive Avengers: Endgame, the MCU will next focus in on Spider-Man, as Tom Holland's Peter Parker returns for the follow-up to 2017's hit film Spider-Man: Homecoming.

In Spider-Man: Far From Home, a grief-stricken post-Endgame Parker heads to Europe for what he hopes will be a relaxing vacation, but soon finds himself once again tackling a massive threat to planet Earth. With the help of his new ally Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal), Spider-Man must do battle with a trio of giant beings called Elementals, each of which draws their power from a different element: earth, water or fire. As was already teased in the first Spider-Man: Far From Home trailers, the Elementals are massively destructive, and though initially there are three of them, at some point a fourth Elemental appears who may be a combination of the original three.

Last year when Screen Rant visited the set of Spider-Man: Far From Home, the movie's producer Eric Carroll revealed that not only will the film feature the Elementals wreaking havoc on Earth while battling Spider-Man and Mysterio, the movie will also address the characters' origins. Of course, no more details beyond that were revealed, as the true nature of the Elementals is being kept secret until the film comes out.

Though Marvel Studios are being tight lipped about the Elementals and their role in Far From Home, it has already been confirmed that the Earth, Water and Fire Elementals all bear some connection to Spider-Man comic book villains Sandman, Hydro-Man and Molten Man. In addition, there may be some connection between Mysterio and the Elementals via his very distinctive helmet. Indeed, some have theorized that Mysterio may turn out to be the movie's real villain. Another theory holds that the Elementals were unleashed on Earth by Thanos, which would come as quite a twist after the Thanos threat was seemingly dealt with once and for all in Endgame.

Fans will just have to wait until Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters to find out what the Elementals are all about, but now they at least know for sure that the characters' origins will indeed be addressed in the movie. If the trailers are any indication, Peter Parker won't have much time to enjoy his London trip before he finds himself once again trying to save the Earth from some gigantic threat, possibly connected to his old enemy Thanos.
