In a summer of disappointing films, Captain America: Civil War shone as a true bright spot for major Hollywood blockbusters. There was a lot to like about the Captain America: Winter Soldier follow-up, but an overwhelming majority of the praise from both fans and critics were directed towards the Marvel Cinematic Universe newcomer, Spider-Man (Tom Holland).
The introduction of the web-slinger into Marvel Studios’ booming superhero film franchise not only served as a wonderful segue into the character’s upcoming standalone movie; it also added to the picture itself by inserting some well-timed humor and even more jaw-dropping action. With Spidey’s entrance into the MCU being the success that it was, it only makes sense that the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler would be the star of the latest marketing campaign.
Tom Holland’s Spider-Man has taken center stage in the latest Captain America: Civil War promo ahead of the film’s release on home video. Featuring a slew of behind-the-scenes shots to the tune of Alt J’s “Left Hand Free”, Spidey is featured as the unequivocal star of this latest Civil War-related advertisement.
Coming in at just over a minute long, the Civil War video above portrays a healthy amount of Holland sporting the initial practical Spider-Man suit for the film. Additionally, the promo gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at Holland practicing fight choreography alongside some of the MCU’s biggest stars – Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark/Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier), and so forth.
It might not be anything close to the extent of the film’s theatrical release, but it appears as though Marvel Studios’ marketing team is making a significant push ahead of Captain America: Civil War‘s release on home video. With hilarious promotional videos such as “Team Thor” surfacing across the web, the fan-favorite MCU picture appears to be making its way back into the public consciousness after an entire summer moviegoing season filled with a handful of other competing comic book films.
This Captain America: Civil War promo ingeniously reminds fans that not only is the fan-favorite blockbuster coming to a store near you next week but also, a brand new Spider-Man adventure will be making its way to theaters in less than one year. Always pressing forward, Marvel Studios looks ahead to its next project as the hope fans will enjoy Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok as much they have the previous entries into the franchise. Not to mention, Marvel Studios is not done with 2016 quite yet as Doctor Strange is still due out later this year.
Captain America: Civil War is currently available on Digital HD and will be hitting store shelves on 3-D Blu-ray, Blu-ray, DVD, VOD, and Digital SD September 13.
