New details for the upcoming Spider-Man animated series were revealed at D23. It's a great time to be Spider-Man, and it's an even better time to be a Spider-Man fan. The web-slinger's MCU solo movie debut Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently earning mountains of cash at the box office, having already brought in over $300 million worldwide on a budget of $175 million. Homecoming is also a massive hit with critics, boasting one of the highest Rotten Tomatoes scores of any superhero film. It's fair to say at this point that Sony's decision to partner up with Marvel Studios has been a massive success for both companies.

Live-action Spider-Man isn't the only hot property within the Marvel world at the moment though, as Spider-Man's animated counterpart also has a lot of interesting things happening. An animated movie featuring the Miles Morales version of the iconic character is coming in late 2018, and Disney XD will soon debut a brand new animated Spider-Man series, entitled simply Marvel's Spider-Man. The new series will fill the Spider-shaped void left by the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, which came to an end in early 2017.

As part of this weekend's big D23 expo, Disney announced the official premiere date for Marvel's Spider-Man, as well as revealing the full voice cast for the series. Marvel's Spider-Man swings into action with a one-hour premiere episode on Saturday, August 19 at 7am on Disney XD. The premiere will also be available on the Disney XD app and VOD from 12:01am on that same date.

The full voice cast for Marvel's Spider-Man is as follows: Robbie Daymond as Spider-Man, Max Mittleman as Harry Osborn, Nadji Jeter as Miles Morales, Melanie Minichino as Anya Corazon, Fred Tatasciore as Max Modell, Laura Bailey as Gwen Stacy, Nancy Linari as Aunt May, Patton Oswalt as Uncle Ben, Scott Menville as Doc Ock, John DiMaggio as The Jackal, Alastair Duncan as Vulture, and Marvel's Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada as a coffee shop owner named Joe.

Additionally, also announced at the D23 expo was a third season of Disney XD's Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy cartoon, set to be subtitled Mission Breakout. A premiere date for Guardians season 3 has yet to be revealed. Between a new Spider-Man series and another Guardians season, it's quite the exciting time for those who enjoy Marvel's animated output.
