Last month we debuted an extended clip from Sound of My Voice, an enigmatic drama about two reporters who infiltrate a cult to expose the falsehood of its leader, Maggie (Brit Marling) who claims to be proof of some impossible truths.
Now we have an official trailer for Sound of My Voice to share, which gives us a wider (but just as mysterious) look at the film.
Check out the trailer and synopsis below:
A journalist and his girlfriend get pulled in while they investigate a cult whose leader claims to be from the future.
Obviously the hook of the movie is the whole ‘is she, isn’t she?’ question about Maggie’s alleged origins, and how that possibility (not the answer, but the possibility) affects protagonist couple Peter and Lorna. Sound of My Voice has been well received at Sundance and (most recently) SXSW, with fans calling it an engaging and tense thriller with some interesting sci-fi elements thrown into it. Of course, the time travel plot device masks a much more grounded story about faith, love, and universal design – but on the whole, it looks like director Zal Batmanglij has made a thought-provoking and entertaining film.

Sound of My Voice will be in theaters on April 27, 2012 in the U.S.
