Just one of the many big-budget films getting a release this summer is the Disney fantasy-adventure, The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. It’s been a while since we’ve had any new promo materials for the film but to add to the image gallery we posted last month, we have a new featurette and a batch of new images.

If you’re not familiar, here’s the official synopsis for The Sorcerer’s Apprentice:

Balthazar Blake (Nicholas Cage) is a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan trying to defend the city from his arch-nemesis, Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). Balthazar can’t do it alone, and recruits Dave Strutler (Jay Baruchel), a seemingly average guy who demonstrates hidden potential, as his reluctant protégé.

The sorcerer gives his unwilling accomplice a crash course in the art and science of magic, and together, these unlikely partners work to stop the forces of darkness. It’ll take all the courage Dave can muster to survive his training, save the city and get the girl as he becomes The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.

Below is the new “Good vs. Evil” featurette as well as the gallery of five new promo photos:

I don’t know about you but I, for one, am really looking forward to The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. For whatever reason I’m getting the sort of fun adventure vibe I got from films like The Forbidden Kingdom and this year’s Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief. Cage’s questionable hair aside (another style to add to his collection icon razz New Sorcerers Apprentice Featurette & Images ), I reckon this film will be a winner.

The Sorcerer’s Apprentice hits theaters this summer on July 14th, 2010. Will you be heading out to the see film when the time comes?

  1. After Disney messed up Prince of Persia they better make up for it with this movie. This is on my list of the top anticipating movies I want to see left this summer(Last Airbender,Expendables,Knight and Day).Wizards in modern day Manhanttan and not “Hogwartz” seems more realistic and the special effects look amazing. Plus Nick Cage is in it
