New ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 6 Trailer: Crumbling Kingdom

Published 2 years ago by

The men and women of SAMCRO are in desperate need of a miracle as Jax (Charlie Hunnam) attempts to keep his club from falling apart. In this new trailer for season 6 of Sons of Anarchy, it’s clear that the Sons are going to have to band-together, or risk loosing everything they’ve worked so hard to secure.

To say that season 5′s finale was operatic would be an understatement. Tara (Maggie Siff) and Clay (Ron Perlman) are both in prison, while Jax’s club is crumbling to pieces as he desperately searches for a sense of morality in all the darkness surrounding him. Maybe Jax and Tara should have gone to Oregon, but his loyalty to the club blinds him from the obvious truth; Jax is turning into Clay.

For many it was a pleasure watching Jax outsmart Pope last season, and the soap opera-esque plots grew deeper with each new episode. Creator/executive producer Kurt Sutter (The Shield) is a mastermind at leaving his viewers wanting more, and there is little doubt that season 6 will do the same.

A closer examination of the trailer reveals some returning guest characters from last season. Nero, played by the talented Jimmy Smits (NYPD Blue) will be back in season 6. At first, it was difficult to ascertain his true intentions at the beginning of season 5, but with his ever-growing bromance with Jax on the rise, Nero’s role will most likely become more crucial to the plot. Another curious character is the former US Marshall Lee Toric (Donal Logue), who seems hellbent on destroying SAMCRO. He’s a dangerous character that lives outside the law, and could possibly lead to SAMCRO’s downfall.

Sons of Anarchy, like Breaking Bad, has superbly-flawed characters that we come to care about over time. SAMCRO has committed horrible crimes over the last five seasons, but are they beyond redemption? As a leader, can Jax find a way to save the club and his family, or will he be forced to make sacrifices? With only two seasons remaining, the epic third act of this series is about to begin.

Sons of Anarchy season 6 premieres Sept. 10 @10pm on FX

  1. best show since tv was invented

    • haha yeah right its not even in the top 50, have u heard of breaking bad or walking dead or castle or sopranos.

      • Walking dead is immensly overrated ever since the end of season 1 the show has been very inconsistent and sometimes boring. The other two you mentioned are spot on, along with imo boardwalk empire and the wire

      • Just because something isn’t in a top 50 list doesn’t mean s***.

Breaking Bad is like Sesame Street compared to Son of Anarchy. Every episode of SOA you leave feeling like, “How can show get any more messed up” and then it does. Every season finale of Sons feels like the same “Red Wedding” from GoT.

Vince Gilligan needs to take some serious story pacing notes from Sutter, Breaking Bad is boring, it’s unbelievable it last 5/6 season!

        • I will definitely not agree with your opinion that every finale of SOA is like the GoT red wedding episode. SOA gets more cluttered and unbelievable every episode, so much, that every season finale, I contemplate if I will tune in for each following season, but then I do hoping that they will get the crap together and go back to a watchable program. If you can’t tell by my comment, SOA has almost lost me, but to each their own, at least you seem to enjoy it.

  2. Very good show. I hope this is a good season. Donal Logue is awesome.

  3. The writer made a small error in the article Lee Toric is an ex US Marshal not DEA agent.

    • Also, not to nitpick, but neither Clay nor Tara were in prison at the end of season 5. Having watched the trailer I guess this distinction doesn’t matter too much since they both seem to have made it there. But there was some doubt whether Clay would even make it to jail with the bounty on his head over the death of Pope. I believe the guy who has taken over Pope’s empire said he wanted Clay dead before his trial or arraignment or something to that effect.

  4. This is my favorite show on TV right now. Really excited about this. This and The Walking Dead are the two shows that I never miss an episode, but TWD needs to improve in the 4th season or I might give up on it.

  5. Also, I don’t know why everyone is so in love with Breaking Bad. I’ll admit I’ve gotten hooked on it after hinge watching the whole show (I loved the blown-off face of Fring). But it was hard getting through the first 2-3 seasons. The show is so slow. Not much in the way of advancing the plot happens over the course of several episodes. It seems like they didn’t have a clear plan for awhile. And the early subplots involving Walt’s wife and sister-in-law just dragged the pacing down even more. And I have to be honest, I’m a little tired of watching them cook. We get it, they cook meth. How many different ways can you show it? Playing a different song while they cook doesn’t make it any more interesting. And what was the point of the plane crash? Such a big storyline that went nowhere. Hopefully, now that they are in the home stretch it’ll pick and stay that way.

  6. I am so excited and love watching this show. The trailer was amazing and this season is going to awesome!!!

  7. Never got into this show, good actors, just never hooked me.

  8. This POS has long since jumped the shark.
