A new Solo: A Star Wars Story rumor indicates the first trailer, or some other form of promotion, will arrive in the next few weeks. The latest episodic installment in Disney and Lucasfilm's sci-fi franchise, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, only recently hit theaters around the world, but many fans are turning their eye to the next movie on the slate - and they have good reason to since Solo: A Star Wars Story debuts in little more than five months. When Disney relaunched the Star Wars universe after they acquired Lucasfilm, they released their first three movies of the revitalized franchise - Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and The Last Jedi - a year apart.

There's a much shorter wait between The Last Jedi and Solo, but Disney and Lucasfilm have yet to release any kind of footage, and very little in the way of official promo materials, for the Han Solo prequel movie. It's not uncommon for Lucasfilm to wait until one movie is out before promoting their next release, but with a much shorter gap between The Last Jedi and Solo, we're now nearly five months out from the second standalone film's release and we haven't received a trailer or any significant promotion aside from the Han Solo movie's official title annoucement. However, that may be changing incredibly soon.

Cinelinx's Jordan Maison took to Twitter to reveal that fans can expect the first Solo: A Star Wars Story "stuff" to arrive in the next 2-3 weeks. In a follow-up tweet, he amended his predicted timeline to say, "Actually, probably sooner. Like coming up pretty quick." Take a look at his tweets below:

Since Maison's initial comment refers only to Solo "stuff" rather than a trailer specifically, he may be hinting at the reveal of the movie's first poster, or an official first look at Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo. Typically, movie studios reveal full posters and/or other promotional material before a full-length trailer, and all we've seen so far is the Solo teaser poster. However, Maison's additional comments on Twitter indicate he may in fact be referring to a trailer. Maison later shot down fans guessing the first Solo trailer won't arrive until the 2018 Super Bowl in early February, saying fans should be on the lookout in "early January" instead.

Of course, with only five months left until Solo hits theaters, it certainly makes sense for Lucasfilm to quickly ramp up promotion for the movie - and to ramp it up soon. Plus, with the massive shake-up behind the scenes of Solo plaguing the film's narrative ever since Lucasfilm replaced original director Phil Lord and Chris Miller with Ron Howard, the project could undoubtedly use some goodwill.

With that said, though, it's imperative that Howard and Lucasfilm release a good first trailer for Solo. The film follows the iconic Star Wars character of Han Solo, but for the first time won't feature Harrison Ford in the role. The studio needs to sell moviegoers on a new version of Han as played by Ehrenreich, which isn't necessarily going to be easy. So, if Lucasfilm and Howard are taking their time to craft a good first trailer, fans will no doubt appreciate it. And, if this latest rumor is to be believed, it may not be long before viewers get their first look at Ehrenreich in the role through the Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer.
