DDOT3: Ben was referring to going to the location of the Frozen Donkey Wheel below the Orchid time machine room. I think we know all there is to know about the polar bears – they were an early season mystery that’s already been explained.

i think the polar bears are alot more significant to the story here in the later seasons, only because when Ben moved the island he said “I’m going somewhere cold” or something to that effect, which leads me to believe it has something to do with the north pole. they usually tie time travel in with the north pole…

@ Matt,

Here’s my geek knowledge for ya on the polar bear subject.

The following was written on the blast door map:
“Stated goal, repatriation. Accelerated de-terretorialization of Ursus Maritimus through gene therapy and extreme climate change.”

Which basically means they’re working on polar bears to test if they can make them exist in a completely different environment and climate. From Frozen Artic to hot Jungle island.

Lost is my favorite show right now. Ben is the awesome, through some sort of miracle I hope Jin didn’t die in the explosion, the smoke monster is annoying me cause I need to know what it is already, I can’t remember where/how the polar bears are there, the time traveling doesn’t bother me unlike the time traveling in Heroes, and I can’t wait till January 21st.

Easily my favourite show right now. In my top 3 of all time too.

Love the ambiguity of the show and the fact they have not spelt things out.

As for the pacing of the show, that has never been an issue once the end date was announced.

Ben rules! My biggest question waiting to be answered this season is about Jacob, who the hell is he… or is he Jack’s dad? That one is bugging me since Season III

What’s bugged me about the show (beyond the ultra-slow pace of the story) has been the fact that they seem to be trying to play both side of the sci-fi/supernatural fence. IMHO you need to pick ONE as the explanation behind everything.

Most everything seems to have pretty much a sci-fi angle… except for the smoke “creature.”

I too think that time travel will be the main explanation for pretty much everything that has happened on the island.

This will mean that some characters we thought were dead will reappear by time travel and explains why that one guy doesn’t seem to age.

I think the island may have gone forward in time. So they won’t be able to find it till it re-emerges in the future.

Some folk I know didn’t like season 4 and its new direction but I dug it, and I love the new path towards concluding the store in the next two seasons.

Lost is my absolute favourite TV show not just currently but OF ALL TIME. I just can’t get enough of it, love all the twists and turns and question raised.

Season 4 was argubaly the best season of the show yet (I think season 1 is the other which rivals it), and personally I can’t WAIT for season 5 (5 weeks tomorrow!).

We’ve still got the last four episodes of last season on some VHS tapes. We haven’t gotten around to watching them yet.
