Smallville fevers continues to run high this week. Already we’ve gotten a first look at Brian Austin Green as Metallo and then word on which actors would be playing the Wonder Twins. Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, now we have the official promo trailer for Smallville’s upcoming 9th season, featuring a look at the “Dark Superman” uniform.

If you’re one of those Smallville fans that has been patiently waiting eight seasons for the show to kick into super-powered high gear than you are at the end of your wait! Take a look:

I’ve never really gotten into Smallville but I have to say that preview makes me want to jump on board for this upcoming season. My big gripe was always that there was too much Clark Kent soap opera drama and not enough Superman adventure – but it’s looking like the show has finally progressed up to the point I always hoped it would (Clark’s early stints as Superman).

If you didn’t read our Smallville Comic-Con coverage then you don’t know that Metallo will be kicking off the season premiere, Lex will eventually be back, General Zod will be stirring up trouble, Lois Lane and Green Arrow will remain in the mix and sorry, Jimmy Olsen fans, there are currently no plans for a resurrection.

The show returns on September 25th (that’s Friday now) @ 8/7c on the CW.

i have been waiting forever for smallville to return and by the looks of the trailers; its coming to be one kick ass season and i cant wait. i really hope they get clark and lois together, they really have something special. SMALLVILLE RULES!!!!!!!

well it looks like lois and clark will finally get it on this season and this season looks even better than last season they upgrade every year and season 10 may be even more explosive.

Benâ€¦to put your mind at ease it is not on at the same time as dollhouse which as now added Summer Glau, but it is on at the same time as Ghost Whisperer

This trailer is REALLY good, I cannot believe I am looking forward to the season started..that black suit is better than the red and blue DEF less flamboyant

I think the ratings will do fine this season. (Even on Friday). This trailer is awesome. Anyone who watches it would be foolish not to tune in

i love smallville and i really hope clark will see his destiney and become superman but i think they should keep going with a superman series thats not cartoon but with the smallville cast! i would love that! i hope clark starts to fly soon!

But think about it.
If that's the first uniform he wears, then that's not a "Dark Superman" outfit, that's just his "Superman" outfit, as far as everyone who sees it is concerned. It's like, we don't call Batman's outfit his "Dark Batman" outfit, cause that's just what he wears.
Him starting off with a dark outfit sorta takes away from the signifigance of it. It's not a scary change, it's just the way he dresses.

Anyone else find it odd that he'd have a "Dark Superman" uniform before a "Superman" uniform?

The trailer is looking awesome. Clark in action with the new suit and Clois is definitely happening. The relationship between Clark and Chloe is strained from last season. Clark fighting Alia and Metallo. The Oliver cagefighting takes place in the second episode and Tess is in for a rude awakening with Zod and his army. The 9th season should focus on Clark, Lois, Oliver, and Zod.

I just watched it again!!! Man that train wreck looked awesome! I love how they did Metallo and i get goosebumps listening to "kneel before Zod!"

Wow!! I am actually looking forward to Smallville. Hope it's not just all hype. But it looks to be a very promising season.

Well, I have to say that trailer did look pretty good to me. From this trailer, we know that the Clark at the end of last season is not Bizarro, as some thought, because Bizarro gets stronger with Krytonite. I am one of the ones who said this should be the last season but if they can make season 9 rock as hard as that trailer, I'm in for season 10.
