Season 9 of Smallville has a lot of changes coming up:
Tom Welling will be directing a few episodes of Smallville this season, the pesky (lack of) flying will be addressed, Geoff Johns will be writing an episode and we’ve all heard how Clark will be dealing with issues on trying to be only a hero, leaving the personality of Clark behind.
We’ve also got Metallo, General Zod and (shudder), the Wonder Twins showing up in season 9.
On top of that, Clark Kent will have a new look in the upcoming 9th season of Smallville. Check it out after the page break.

OK, so it’s not the red and blue skin tight suit – but it IS his first Superman-style outfit.
When I first mentioned seeing this new look at Comic-Con, did I not say he looks like Neo from The Matrix? I hope they do this well enough to pull it off. And I also hope it’s not a fleeting moment where he wears the outfit for 1 or 2 episodes and then back to the red and blue jackets and shirts.
What do you think of the new look of Super-Clark in Smallville Screen Rant readers?

I think it’s about time that ck has had a make over (in the costume dept) as i’ve watched every episode more than once (sad but true) and I think tom looks great with the black and a hint of blue, unless my eyes are deceiving me! Which from what i’ve read , I don’t think so.
i think it’s grreat! It makes him look more sexy and its more bad ass then walking around with a red and blue suit!!!I think that there doing a great job with the story..But i think that they need to do more with chole.. like with her power!Let her kick so butt with her power! Also I think that chole and oliver would look very cute together?????Now that would be something to watch as chole needs someone and it became oliver!!I think that would be a good couple!
i dont like the long overcoat. makes him look more civilian than superhero.
Tom Welling looks good no matter what he’s wearing….BUT I think the jacket’s lines are too feminine.
did bruce wayne ever have a cameo on smallville or ever been shown as clark kent’s freind?
No Michael, we haven’t seen that.
you guys don’t get it… in the current comics… the real bad *ss is an alternate universe superboy/superman villian. he kills alot of good guys. at the end of that story line you see superboy with a S burned into his chest… a kind of hat-tip slash insult to smallville(since these fools don’t really follow each others canon) and their own chest burning ideas… NOW smallville is returning the favor… a black suited superman becomes a earth ruling tyrant after Lois is killed(OF DISAPPEARS INTO THE PAST!!!)
Neo wants his coat back loser.
I am a fan of the show and have followed it since season 1 (actually I jumped in at season 4 but have watched all seasons from season 1 via DVD Rental) and partly thanx to the arrival of another little one to our family, this is the first season I have missed the opener. In fact i have yet to watch one episode; sad I know.
That said I have to admit I like the new look from the picture above. From the previews of season 8 that I have seen I get the impression Clark is going a period in his life which the new outfit somewhat compliments. The outfit sends a message of being strong, forceful and without emotion; being distanced from those you protect. Isn’t Clark starting out this season as a stand-a-lone guy who’s come to the idea he must distance himself from everyone?
to be honset unless you guys actually read the superman comic or watched the movies or the seasons before 9 you’d actually get it: for starters most of you guys claim that there was no black suit superman where if you read the comics made after that there were people claiming to be superman wore ridculous versions of his red and blue outfit and it turned out the real superman was the black suit one, several shows and animated series nad movies made reference to that, even the short lived lois and clark had a black suit superman that was put on trial by the few members of krypton left. secondly it also represents the change in his view on humanity, often in the seasons before 9 hes been wearing the same damn combination of red, blue and sometimes yellow on his jacket shirt and jeans combo, and that was when he viewed humans as a force of good after the doomsday fight in that show he thought he could save doomsday’s human side but even that was just as bad as the monster he is. the comics often show people trying to shatter superman’s view on humanity and although most don’t succeed, the ones that do spark a change in the man of steel.
Bravo wolf, (i’m not being sarcastic) that was very informative and you just burned alot of people at the same time
