Check Out Brian Austin Green As Metallo on Smallville

Smallville Season 9

Smallville fans I don’t know if you’re into SPOILERS or not, but today TV Guide nabbed a first look at Brian Austin Green as Superman foe Metallo, a role he’ll play in a two-part arc during the Season 9 premiere of Smallville this fall.

Be fairly warned that once you go any further you’ll be spoiling the surprise for yourself, so be sure you’re sure you want to know before you proceed.

I’m not that big of a Smallville fan but I have to say – not bad! Not bad at all!

Green will play John Corben, in this version of the character a Daily Planet reporter who becomes Metallo after suffering a terrible accident, only to be saved by a kryptonite heart implanted by a “Frankenstein-esque” (Lex Luthor?) benefactor who the show’s producers are reluctant to reveal. Guess you’ll have to tune and find out!

Apparently, what you see above is just the FIRST version of Metallo. Later on he’ll be getting, as Smallville producer Kelly Souders said, “sleeker.” Hmmm… that doesn’t sound like Iron Man at all…

I have watched Smallville since it aired. But I have to agree that season 8 was a dud. I am getting tired of the whole story line about feeling sorry for himself about other people getting hurt and Clark once again running off to lick his wounds. This needs to stop. As far as more deaths, I don't agree with that. Think about it, from the original season all we have left is Clark and Chloe. Everyone else has left. Too many deaths usually means the end of the show. I know the show has lasted longer than most thought, but as long as it is good, I will still watch it. As for the Iron Man rip off, I don't really care because I really didn't want to see more of what we saw in Battlestar Galactica with the new and improved Silons. As for the names, come on they were from the Golden Age and Marvel didn't do much better.

It's easy to say that DC ripped off Iron Man, but this is not true. Metallo came out first in 1959 and Iron Man came out few years later.

One thing to say to that. MR. FANTASTIC, THE INVISIBLE WOMAN, THE HUMAN TORCH, and THE THING. Those aren't corny?

Anyway, Metallo looks awesome and i can't wait for season 9.

p.s. why does everything have to be a "rip off" of something else?

First thing that popped into my mind as well was Iron Man rip off. Nevertheless this season is looking very promising. It looks like the proiducers are taking the show in the right direction. Black suit, Metallo, General Zod, finally some villains that are worth talking about. I think at this point in time we could use aanother BIG death in the show as well being that the show is nearing its end with 1 or maybe 2 possible seasons left. Since Lana is no longer relevant to the show, her death would make the most sense but killing off Chloe would not be too bad of an idea because she really does not exist in the comics.

I also think that we will get more action and more darkness which is always a plus for Smallville. I just hope that the whole Doomsday arc has ended because last seaosn was a monumental disaster in my opinion.

Also hope to see more of the Fortress and Jor El being as to how that is really essential to the whole transformation into Superman. It would be GREAT to see a Lex on occasion and I am sure that the producers have something interesting lined up for the midseason finale.

I hated the past 2 seasons but so far this one is looking up

Well i don't know about Smallville so i won't make any direct links to it but in the DC universe Metallo doesn't show his Kryptonite core off like a badge. Its hidden in his chest and only shows it off when Superman is nearby. I would think this picture is to illustrate the fact that it is Metallo.

Also liking Iron Man doesn't mean im going to like characters that look like him. That just doesn't make sense.

Given that its Smallville, we won't see this until the very last scene of the two episode arc.

As for the design, poor Metallo only has the options of looking either like Tony Stark or a Terminator.

Pretty sure metallo predates Iron Man by a few years. One could shellhead is a metallo ripoff. Metallo is one of the better golden age supes villains, cool that he's on the show

What kind of name is Metallo anyway? I tell you...DC characters and DC names are quite corny. If you take the top 20 Marvel heroes and put them next to the top 20 DC heroes, you'll see that Marvel has much more interesting and appealing characters with better names. DC is a joke...can't wait for Marvel to scoop up Superman in '13.
