I have to say that I have had a lot of negative things to say about Smallville since the end of season 6 but this season is defintely taking teh show in the right direction. The last episode was the best I have seen in years and this whole edgier look to the sho wis definately working. I still would prefer to see it aired on Thursdays because I am never able to catch it on Tv and am forced to watch it online. Regardless I hope they continue down this story line and quite frankly another season is looking like a possibility at this point

I’m sort of surprised by the number of people that feel the writing/story of season nine is terrible. I personally think it’s ingenious. I was wondering how they would solve this whole Zod problem, or even Jor’El for that matter. Not only did they solve it, but they brought us a great mythos episodes that explored the past of Krypton and gave weight to the character of Zod, Jor’El, and Superman himself. I think it’s just amazing writing, and it seems like it was all planned from the end of season 8. I can’t wait to see what devious plan Zod comes up with to “take down” Clark or regain his power.
For having a reduced budget, this season of Smallville seems to have the biggest budget yet. More action, more entertaining characters and even a more developed plot.
I can’t wait to see what is next. I think this has been the best season of Smallville yet.

I also think this has been the best season yet.

Longshanks, I never said it was “good” lol

But yeah. it seems like they addressed the no flying topic in the first episode to please the fans and then just let it go again.

Well so far, I’ve been loving this season. Just the sight of a more mature, non-mopey Clark Kent makes me happy. And that bullet he caught in front of Oliver’s eye was so amazing and reminscent of one of the few good moments in “Superman Returns”. I don’t want to jinx anything because I’ve said similar things before and been majorly burned. But hopefully the momentum can carry on through to the end.

Smallville has never had a run of such quality episodes before, the writers always manage to fudge it up very quickly, and I’m hoping the upcoming Wonder Twins episode isnt the one that finally starts season 9 on a slump because it looks slightly too camp even for Smallville!

Foopher says:

Well unfortunately you can’t have a perfect season, but i’m sure this could be a very good one.

Foopher says:

I think it’s funny that the episode involving the Wondertwins airs on Friday the 13th

Foopher says:

Ok, Bruce. I know we agreed that “Wondertwins” and “cool” should not be said in the same sentence, but this last episode with them, well… Rocked!!!

Pau77 says:

Totally right, I aggree with Foopher. What exactly did happen in episode with the flying. You saw him jump off the statue of liberty and start falling. WTF!!!!! Dose that mean he can’t fly or can fly? Looks like the writers have taken their brains on a long long long holiday in a land far far away…….

We know that Clark can fly, he just can’t, well, get it up… into the air because of his own mental limitations. (That’s as far as I go with that one!)

I downloaded the latest episode and tried watching the latest episode, I say tried because I ended up switching it off. The story line is pathetic. I have seen every episode since Smallville began as I am a massive Superman fan. I have all the movies, and have seen Superman Returns about 14 times. I just can’t stomach the week writing no more. Mr brother gave up on the show last season after the doomsday fiasco, I now wish I had as I have wasted hours on end downloading. What really hit the nail on the head and finally made me give up on watching it, was the non-sense story line with Clarke and Louis, and the fact that he still can’t fly after 9 seasons….. 9 SEASONS!!!!

Foopher says:

OK, you’re obviously NOT a “massive superman” fan or you would know that it’s ‘Clark’ and ‘Lois’.

Also if you think this season is pathetic how in the fooph did you make through seasons 6-8? I mean REALLY?!?

fish says:

I think the season has been quite entertaining. I am however, dissappointed in the way the Clark/Lana relationship ended. It was like he(Clark) falls for Lois only after not being able to be with Lana. I would like to see him have a choice and choose Lois. That would make the romantic storyline between Clark and Lois much more powerful! Maybe, the writers could create a situation that gives Clark a choice…that would make his falling for Lois Swweeet!

Foopher says:

Very true. But if you think about it, Clark has known Lois since season 4. So maybe he’s just been bottling up his feeling for her, trying to convince himself that he loves Lana. But now he knows that Lois is his main squeeze.
