to answer your question... YES. Smallville has gotten MUCH more "superhero"y. He's been out of high school for 5 years now.

This maybe a little off topic, but I just can't seem to get my head around Smallville.
To all the guys who watch the series, how did you ever get past the first season? Isn't just some lovey dovey, generic high school drama?
One of my friends has seen 8 seasons of the series and she says that it does get better. Does it? Is there any kind of "real" superhero substance?
I ask because I won't subject myself to painfully watching pretty people say catchy lines for an hour at a time. ;)

I liked that Clark came back to the land of the living, and I thought the last scene with him and Lois was cute.

OK, maybe it was a weird dream I had (which would be extremely sad), or someone's tongue in cheek nod to 90210 lore, but I could have sworn I read somewhere that the storyline was going to be Metallo's ex-wife was Linda Lake? Anyhoo, glad they went with the little sister angle.

I'm just glad Clark is STILL in the suit. I was afraid they would only have him in it in the first episode then go back to the red and blue. The writers are finally coming around.

Maybe. I didn't think it was exactly "monotone" but i did think her dialogue was a little corny. But them again when has Smallville had wonderful writing? :)

I did like Metallo though. I thought his "mechanics" looked pretty cool. I also liked the ending with Clark and Lois telling the story. They're so cute.

OK, so tell me... did if feel like the actors KNEW their show was now on Friday nights and it showed?

For me, Durance really came off incredibly bad in this episode... it felt like everything she said was monotone bored. She had no expressions. I found it distracting and it almost ruined the epi. Did I miss something?

It felt like the way Denise Richards acted... (might be overstated word) in STARSHIP TROOPERS.

I really don't think he looks so insanely "Iron man". I mean yeah the light in his chest, but how esle who they have done Metallo?

I am not so grossed about the character as I am about the actor. I haven't liked him since I saw him first, and now, smb said that he wanted to be GA. & since GA-Justin Hartley is my fav actor, I'm sad only for considering this guy as GA.

So that's why they killed him of in The Sarah Connor Chronicles! O_O

BAG is BAD. After watching the season premiere I realize one thing: I'm glad he didn't get the Green Lantern role.

i wonder how intentional it was that they made BAG look as much like RD Jr's Tony Stark without making it too obvious.

I only hope that this isn't another one of those characters that's only around for one or two episodes before getting killed,or shipped off somewhere.

This is the first timeI have been asked if something in Smallville was gross,
So, I responded to that specific instance.And I still think it was gross and creepy

Gary, there's been blood and guts on Smallville before. This is mellow compared to the child ripping out a piece of the scientist's body in the season 6 finale. And Jimmy and Davis being impailed in the season 8 finale. Or how about Clark RIPPED IN HALF at the beginning of season 8's "BEAST" (in Chloe's dream)?

Also, Is BAG the best that the show could afford or what? I hold him personally responsible for the Sarah Conner Chronicles being canceled.

CONFESSION: I didn't read any of the comics so can someone explain to me how Metallo is a little like Iron Man? or is it (the show)even like the comics in any way at all?

My 13 year old nephew doesnt watch the show every week ,
But he gets The DVD box sets every year.
I think he would be creeped out by this .
I question if it would have made it on the air if the blood had been red and the heart had been a living pumping organism and not a machine.
