These costumes are meant to be retro, they are meant to look like they came from the eighties because that is when the JSA were operating in Smallville’s timeline.

Smallvilles done a good job with costumes, enough to ensure it has stayed on for as long as it has so I think we should reserve too much judgement on these episodes until they’ve actually aired.

“How did we get onto Batman”?

We got there b/c there are some who can’t seem to concieve that not everyone in the world believes The Dark Knight is the end to all end in movies. SOme of us just like TDK and don;t see it as the best Batman film.

The problem with comparing TDK & BB (Batman Begins) is that while both use the same director and actors there really are 2 different films and I mean by more then just being sequels. TDK is almost like a reinvention of BB. In BB we have a very well done comic book adaptation, probably the best ever for the Batman character and in TDK we have not a comic book adaptation but a dark drama that builds it’s story around the Batman character. And so in the firts film we see what you would expect from a well done Batman movie and in the later we see what you’d expect from a well done Drama (that has action) that features super heros themes.

Vic, very true about Peter Parker. But what most people don’t know is that Peter was taught how to sow and tailor by his aunt, thus making him an expert in all things costume. (And i know Someone’s gonna think i seriously think that so here’s to those people: THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FUNNY)

Actually, in TDK they focused a lot on character development. at the same time as they focused on a “real reeling film”. Begins is the origin story, TDK is how he becomes the dark knight, everyones hope and fear. and character development on a lot of the sidecharacters, such as two-face. so if u want a good batman film, u get either begins or TDK, no, get both;)

@ all those who dispute TDK as a GREAT film, your downright looney.
Id understand youd saying its the second best “batman” film. TDK didnt focus on the character as much. Instead nolan went for a real reeling film, mixed with some cool toys a film like this normally wouldnt have and a fantastic group of actors.

But put back to back TDK blows BB out of the water in total overall experience, along with a whole shizload of other films< not just comic book adaptations.

you want a batman -batman film, you get batman begins

you want a thriller, drama, something you are happy you got to experience in a theatre, you go see (not even titled batman) TDK.
lol, do as i just did, imagine the characters, same acting and all but not as the comic book selfs. Still a hero and crazy guy, just not batman and joker.
that would have been TERRIFYING… lol, in fact i guess the only thing that keeps ledgers performance from being horrified is the fact you know -batman- is gonna win.
