Smallville: Season 10 Will Be Its Last

After a truly amazing ninth season finale, Smallville fans were hoping to catch a glimpse of the promised 2013 future in which Clark Kent has thrown The Blur costume away and finally become Superman.
Unfortunately, that day will never come as The CW is set announce on Thursday, during their upfront, that Smallville season 10 will also be the series’ last.
Tom Welling, proving that not only is he faster than a speeding bullet, but also The CW’s public relations, revealed the news of Smallville’s final season to Hollywood Life while attending a party celebrating the release of legendary film producer Jerry Weintraub’s new book. Welling said:
“Season 10 of Smallville will be the last season”
While the news is a huge blow to Smallville fans that have invested nine years in the series, keep in mind that there’s still one more season left. With the foreshadowing provided in the season 9 finale, there’s a good chance that the season 10 will not only be its last, but also its best.
We all know that by the end of Smallville, Clark has to not only fly, but also become Superman. Hopefully, with all the “training” required for him to reach those goals, The CW will at least give us a couple episodes with Clark as the legendary Man of Steel, instead of waiting until the final moments of the series finale to have him don his infamous red and blues (but don’t bet on it).
Unfortunately, no matter how much flying Clark does, there will still be one big piece of the Superman puzzle missing: Lex. A couple of months ago, actor Michael Rosenbaum stated that he will not be returning to Smallville. Although, with Smallville coming to an end, maybe his former cast members can coax him into returning – even if it is only for one episode.
…a man can dream, right?

I hate that the cw are even considering canceling such a great show, that is the only reason i watch the cw, I make sure i leave work in time so i won’t miss it i hope so much that they create some sort of spin off or another company buys it and continues the show for all of there loyal fans and viewers..
the show must go on all the other man of steel shows have ended and we all waited for more superman is the number one hero. My dad got me into all the comics and i have watched and read the comics since i can remember and watch about every episode whether its cartoon, real life, or comic and im upset there is only one supergirl movie but well. Smallville is my favorite out of all the other ones of superheroe shows because it helped me understand more about the man of steel so in my opinion seriously its selfish to cut it off after season 10. I hate when as soon as i get into a show it ends. I actually just started watching the show because i thought it was going to be way of base then the comic but it actually brings it up to the start of the comics granted there was alot of modern technology wich I can understand why and it made more sense than the old type writer and the old apple computer with no satellite. All that made making the show more interesting with mortal enemies and all his allies and how they came to be eventually the justice league I also this he should have been superman with blue and red with the cape along time ago instead of being black which is more a sign of morning than heroic. I watched every episode in the last month and waiting for the new season to finally start i have to wait to be able to watch it online or buy it on dvd because i am stationed overseas so i wait longer the the us fans but well im use to that. So I hope they reconsider there decision becauseit be nice to watch superman in action on tv shows than in another movie that is a cartoon or a movie just to keep the excitement for all of us fans to wait a week or two to see what happens next. Smallville is one of the few shows left worth watching its not all drama and all action or some murder mystery which all them plain shows gets old quick but when u mix them together the wright way that is where you keep ratings and money flowing to keep the show up and running and i am sure there is someone out there that will be able to always keep the man of steel shows going for eveyone to want to turn on the tv kick back and relax and be like there a kid waiting for an exciting adventure like back in the days when he first came to the screen and one last night i really am glad the original superman got to be in the show to guide the new clark kent on his adventure that was really terrific made me want to watch more and Lex does need to come back meaning he is in the first movie and also in the superman returns film. OH Why is the show ending when there are so many fans more than any other show thats on TV that really sux and boring and for females Clark Kent is the most popular superhero I see his symbol quite often and lately hearing more about the show than all others. Show biz needs to wake up and smell the ratings and keep it going and i dont are if it needs to be new actors just keep it continuing and exciting also hurry it up with the new season.
In this show there are some goals that they need to be filled:
1) Where did Kara go to find kandorians in season 8 ?
2) Who is the voice of Orb ?
3) Where did Lex Luthor missing and when he comes back ?
4) Perry White must return to Smallville.
these are some serious question i cant wait to see the session 10

Yeah i know i really want them to make a movie of superman with the cast of smallville. It stinks that there making it end im soooooooo sad.
they never said that they wont make a smallville movie so theres still the slim chance
I really hope that they will make a movie at the end of the 10th season, I mean it would be the most reasonable thing for them to do really and they would be sure of all the smallville fans to watch it as well…. so it has to make them a lot of money!
if they do they will make two times as muchas avatar did.avatar made over 600 000 000 dollars.this is the best show ever i cant wait for season 10 and i hope that they will make a film after season 10 but i think it would be better to throw us a couple more seasons and then make the movie.i know im greedy but all the fans of smallville would like that.please cast of smallville do this for your fans…:D:D:D:D
WTF!!! THAT IS BULL!! we have invested 9 years of smallville thats 1 hour a week i wasted that i will never get back because i was just waiting for clark kent to become superman. and all those episodes where they made us think that he was going to be superman was dumb and pointless.
Given that Nolan is gearing up a new Superman reboot that doesn’t have any ties to previous incarnations, that would be unlikely. What I would love to see in the finale is Clark really stepping it up more and the rest of the cards falling into place: Jimmy, Perry, the costume. If they don’t set it up this season then what is the point.
hay if some one from the smallville cast is reading this then keep reading. everyone is asking for a movie of smallville with that cast. REMAKE the superman serises becasue they arent makking any that i know of. smallvill’s cast is so much better. If u are ending the seasons of smallville alest make some movies. I bet they will be a bigger hit than Avatar. plz dont ignor just because im a fan. im trying to help everyone out even u. SMALLVILLE BEST SERISES EVER plz make movies it will make ur career way better XD.
i think smallville season 9 was good i also think that season 10 might be good. i would like to see tom welling shritless alot in season 10 of smallville. tom welling has such a great bod and tom welling needs to show it off. i think that tom welling should be shritless in smallville season 10 alot.
wow tom welling is hot and should be shritless he is the most amazing hot man on the plannet. he is so sexy and hot. i mean have u seen him. i would love for tom welling to be shritless in smallville next season.
I would like to see this series become a movie, although this is highly unlikely. I’ve been waiting to see Welling become Superman for 9 seasons, and hope it occurs before the finale. Welling, like Christopher Reeve makes an excellent superman, (a rare find) and he should be considered for the next sm movie.
I have been waiting for the end of Smallville since the start of season 8 (or maybe 7) It is about time, yes this last season was good, but come on pull the plug already. One more season of people getting knocked out after being hit on the head and not seeing Clark save the day is about as much as I can take no matter how good (or bad). The minute he puts on the suit the show officially “Leaps a Shark in a single bound”, and there really is no alternative. Maybe Zantana can come back and put a spell on the suit to explain why people can’t recognize him while he is wearing it or something, just to chum the waters.

I’ve been a fan of Superman since I was a kid, in fact the first movie came out the year I was born but with those original movies coming to an end, they had to be left behind & stored with my childhood memories. When Smallville came along I was hooked from the very first episode and I haven’t missed a single one over the last nine years – so safe to say I’m a fan! Smallville has come a long way since its started and Season 9 has without doubt raised the bar again – it was bigger, darker, more intricate and thankfully they got rid of all the useless ‘filler’ episodes. So where should season 10 go… For the producers( Tom Welling, if your reading), this should be easy – just listen to what all the fans are longing to see before we have to say our sad farewell to our 10 year old friend that is Smallville… Tie up the loose ends (Kara, for one), bring back Michael Rosenbaum (Lex)- he left just when he was getting real interesting – he has great potential to be such a dark character on a global scale. The Blur has to fly (NOT just in the S10 finale) and Clarke has to don the uniform, again please don’t let it be for the finale – I mean c’mon we’ve already been waiting 9 years for it!
Season 9 rocked – Bring on 10! And remember producers… ‘We being poor, have only our dreams, we have spread our dreams under your feet, tread softly because you tread on our dreams’.
They say that if enough fans watch smallville and season 10, it will continue to season 11.
We need more fans to watch smallville, the more the better!
How much money does/would it cost to actually have an extra episode given the actors still want pay and to act?
Well I also think a lot of people are forgetting the fact that Welling was also the one who let the news about the show ending before the CW did. So I think it is also his decision too since he is one of the producers of the show now. Maybe he is ready to do other things outside of Clark Kent.
Well all those saying you’ve been waiting 9 years for him to become superman, clearly don’t know what your talking about, as the original producers Gough and Millar pitched their “no tights, no flights” rule.. and thats how the show started ther was never meant to get this far, i mean im not complaining i love its jus annoying to see ppl sayin i’ve been waitin 9 years for this, the whole point of smallville was to show why superman is the man he is.
What! I just watched season 9 and it was so good im gonna netflix the others . This is truly heartbreaking. The CW should at least give smallville an 11th season so that it would be the longest running sci fi show is usa.
I have been a faithful fan to smallville and of course to the gorgeous thomas john patrick welling. Its saddens me to know that the end of my FAVORITE SHOW is near but all great things do come to an end. I just hope that with this last season we have our MAN OF STEEL and no more beating around the bush. Lex should definitely come back for the last season so the show can go out full circle with its heros and villans. The idea of a movie with the cast is great and I know that this group of actors who have proven to everyone that they are a force to be reckoned with can do an excellent job with a movie. I love you all (if any of the cast is reading this) and to the creators you guys are AWESOME and God bless the genius behind this show. GO OUT WITH A BANG!!!! I know the cw and the cast of SMALLVILLE won’t leave us disappointed.

If it does not happen in the last season or in a smallville/superman movie then CW SUCKS. Properly the best series I have ever watched.
Wait, this is going to be the last season? Suck. Well, at least it is one of the longest lasting Sci Fi shows out there. But I still wish that we could do something to make it last longer. Anyway, I guess that this is where I add my own two cents. Of course Lex needs to come back, after all, he is the main villain. But my personal favorite Superman villain was Dark Side, and I was really hoping that they would do something with him. As for loose ends, what the heck happened to Jimmy? He couldn’t have just died and have that be the end of him. Although in Clark’s flash forward, we did hear Lois telling “Olson” that he better be getting the picture. So, maybe he’ll be back. I liked Jimmy, and he shouldn’t be gone yet. Also everyone knows that Perry White needs to come into office and be the “Chief”. My one major regret in this show that can’t be changed, is that we never got to see Clark and Chloe together outside of the school dance at the end of season 1. I really liked them together. Oh well. So let’s hear it for a great show and hope that they end up changing their minds and extending it, or at least making a film. Or two. Or ten.
I am a total closet fan of Smallville and have loved Superman since I was a kid in the 60′s and watched the old black and white George Reeves TV episodes. Totally agree if season 10 is the last we need Lex back, Clark to fly and don the blue tights. I get chills during certain scenes in the series that foreshadow classic Superman. When the original movie score (Chris Reeves) music plays a few measures as Clark is talking to him, when Clark leaves the red cape fluttering on the farmyard gate after the movie starlet gives it to him, when he opens the gift from his mom and you see the blue & red costume and S symbol reflecting in his eyes. I am SOOOO thankful for CW for waiting 10 years to NOT jump the shark by evolving Clark into the full Superman mode that we’ve all been waiting for – but if S.10 IS to be the last – bring it on now! What do you have to lose if 10 is truly the end? I’m hoping that the Season 10, episode 1 cliffhanger answer is that Clark – on his way down to his death from the rooftop, actually kicks into flight mode. But, I don’t think that’s going to happen with a Blue Krypton dagger in his gut. Also – Star Trek did very well after TV with the movie franchises – I would imagine Smallville will too.
OMG am so happy there is gonna be a season 10, i thought 9 was the last one, phew! Have just started watchin season 9 and so far it’s got off 2 a gr8 start. Have always thought the show has got better with each new season, more of a story arc each season instead of the freak of the week it had the first couple of seasons, plus it’s also got darker. Also have 2 agree that 10 should be it’s last, let it end on a high b4 it starts to run out of steam. Her’s hoping 4 an excellent last season and Smallville will be sorely missed.
im very excited about season 10. i just hope that lex comes back. that could maybe inspire clark to be the hero everyone sees him to be. with the suit and the ability to fly of course…im mean come on people they have already teased us enough with the suit and his future as superman in season 9. but still very happy for season 10 though but sadly its coming to a end. but its said that even though the series is at its last season, its also going out with a bang, as in smallville season 10 will be its best. oh yeah…DARKSEID(maybe)
Season 10 would be a disappointment without lex and supergirl and ofcourse without seeing clark wearing the blue costume!
I would hate to see Smallville come to an end before the goal is met. Clark needs to transition into Superman before the show ends.
I have been a fan of Smallville since its beginning I hope its ending is not true.
