[UPDATE: Apparently producer Al Gough has changed his mind and wants Smallville to go 8 seasons.]
Over at JewReview.net there’s an interview with Michael Rosenbaum who plays Lex Luthor on CW’s Smallville and he confirms that next season (which is Season 7) will be the last one for the series.
Rosenbaum said:
“Yeah, we’re finishing up our sixth year and next year is the last year.”
Sounds like confirmation to me. Of course I reported that Smallville would only go seven seasons a year and a half ago. 
The show’s ratings are strong and it’s as popular as ever. I think it’s great that they’ll be going into next season KNOWING it’s the last one. That way they can map out a season-long arc that will hopefully flow really well and give a fantastic close to the series. It should be the culmination of the the Clark/Lex relationship, finally bringing Lex completely to the dark side:
“…next year is going to be the biggest year of all; it’s the final year and everyone’s going to see what Lex Luther is really capable of. All hell’s going to break loose!”
I know that there are a lot of fans who would like the series to go on and on, but I hope the producers stick to their guns and end the show while it’s on top. There’s nothing worse than watching a great show stick around a season or two too long.

NO PLEASE DO NOT STOP AT SEASON 7. THIS MOVIE IS SO FANTASTIC,, SHOULD CONTINUE TILL SAISON 15. IT ‘S SO RARE TO GET A MOVIE WHICH HAS SO MANY NICE N PRETTY FACE IN IT. HOPE THAT LANA DOES NOT DIE OR ELSE IT WILL BECOMING SO BORING………. SUPERGIRL IS NOT SUPPOSED TO B IN. I SINCERELY CLARK SHOULD ONLY NBE THE ONE AND ONLY PERSON WHO HAS SUPERNATURAL POWER…. CLARK AND LANA SHD BE TOGETHER,, NEITHER LOIS OR SUPERGIRL……..
They should at least stick out til season 8. They’re bringing in Supergirl next season. I think that they can expand the series with the new addition. at least 9yrs. Besides you don’t want to rush the ending. A good series goes to 9-10 seasons.

i been trying to contact cw smallville production staff to sumit story idea allready in dc comics.a superwoman backstory at nearby meteror hit town.a a young woman working on a extroskelleton,after father killed by meterors armor,so far constant melfunction,arm blue red glove nonlethal to clark krytonite what ever.not once is the word superwoman stated.this will be superwoman future tense.some how robot arm helps clark stop badguys.
Smallville is the greatest serie i ever seen! I cant stop watching it when i first get started. But i really dont hope that Lana died in the carbomb ?? : ( that would be so sad, please dont make Lana die! It would never be the same, make it a happy ending, thats what everyone wants!

come on!! let’s get serious. Clark was meant to be with Lois. not Lana..forget that stupid pretty face and stick to the comic. Lana was only past for clark. how long are they planning to keep clark without knowing how to flight.. it so stupid, Superman flew since he was a kid.

I think the movie is going great and that it will be good for lois and clark to come together as the original story goes. Besides they [clark & lois ]were fine together at the episode where lois used red krepnite[lipstick] and kissed clark. in summary, the writer and director should carry on; bravo.
Clark kent is a part of my life.Make us fans a special edition spin off.I luv chloe,she is so cute.Pliz ten is the number-just be inventive.
