Columbia Pictures/MGM has so far favored an ingenious marketing approach for the twenty-third installment in the James Bond franchise, Skyfall. Several featurettes and video blogs for 007′s anticipated return to theaters have trickled out over the past couple of months, so as to keep the film continually on the public’s radar. Yet, the movie’s various secrets and plot twists remain largely under wraps (not that we’re complaining, mind you).

That’s also the case today, as ET unveils an extended version of its Skyfall set visit video. Despite including interviews with central cast members like Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, and newbie Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe, this new featurette avoids shedding much light on anything about the movie. Well, besides that Craig once again dons his Casino Royale speedo at some point (something this image already “spoiled”).

According to The Daily Mail, we will get to see some actual footage from Skyfall in less than two months’ time. The Bond flick’s first theatrical promo is reportedly being attached to prints of Men in Black III (another Columbia/Sony-backed blockbuster), so it should pop up online sometime just before, or after, that threequel hits theaters near the end of May.

In the meantime, here’s the latest behind-the-scenes clip for Skyfall:

Head over to ET for the HD version

Skyfall sees Bond (Craig) forced to battle a mysterious threat from M’s (Judi Dench) past, when it threatens the very existence of MI6. That logline alone hints at a 007 adventure where the stakes are higher and more personal than ever for the iconic secret agent.

With a screenplay devised by such people as longtime Bond series writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, Oscar-nominee John Logan (The Aviator, Hugo) and Patrick Marber (Closer, Notes on a Scandal) – as brought to life by director Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Road to Perdition), there’s all the more reason to be hopeful that Skyfall could serve as a nice capstone for fifty years of Bond cinema.

[SIDENOTE: There’s currently a Skyfall rumor making the rounds that, if true, is definitely a BIG SPOILER for the film. Rather than comment on its possible legitimacy, we’ll just include this link – and leave it to you to decide how likely (or not) said rumor is… if you dare to take a peek.]

Look for Skyfall to reach theaters in the U.S. on November 9th, 2012.

  1. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that this will be almost as good as Casino Royale. If anything, all I ask is that it doesn’t turn out to be another Die Another Day. In Mendes and Craig…I TRUST!!!

  2. That ‘spoiler’ that I won’t mention directly, really threw me for a loop. I don’t know how to react, I thiiiink I really hope it’s false…

    • It’s true. For a variety of reasons.

    • Why hope that this “spoiler” is false???
The actor/character in question isn’t getting any younger. It makes perfect sense and it’s cool they gave said actress a fitting scene.

The bigger question would be; Will Ralph Fiennes be the new _____?

  3. I keep getting the name “Skyfall” confused with some sci-fi movie for some reason :/.

    • You’re thinking of the ( dreadful ) Sci Fi movie ” Skyline. “

  4. I was looking forward to this…

Until I heard all the hype about Heinekin!

    So now instead of,

    “Martini, shaken not stirred”

    Bond will be saying,

    “Pint of larger thanks!”

That is just plain wrong, on so many different levels!

    • He might shake his bottle of beer and hilarity ensues.

      • Like I said, so wrong on so many levels!

I hang out with beer drinkers, I know how “classy” they are!

Hell, I drink beer, I know how “classy” I am after a few!

        • Well Craig’s Bond has never been what I would call a classy fella.

          • Bond’s drank beer before. It’s a non-issue.

            • No one said it was an issue, it’s more of a joke on the product placement. And Bond should be drinking whiskey, that is his drink of choice.

    • Bond has ALREADY had a beer in the 007 series! How quickly you forget.

Remember in Quantum Of Solace, in the scene where Bond meets up with Felix Leiter in that little bar? They both have a beer.

      • Yes but this time, I half expect him to swig the Heineken, turn the bottle towards the camera and say “Ahhhhh refreshing.”

        • Right! How about that scene in Casino Royale when Vesper suddenly makes reference to Bond’s watch, and then he proudly says, “OMEGA.”
And how about all those SONY cell phones and laptops.
But, come on. We, of all people, should know that “product placement” and EON Bond productions go hand in hand.

  5. Film looks classy like Casino Royale. QoS wasnt bad, just a letdown. Decent thrills don’ make a grea film. Skyfall looks visually solid so far. The stills look fantastic. Hopefully the film is 2.5 hours of action and drama, not 100 minutes of nonstop chases and fights :) i can forgive qos if skyfall is amazing
