They’re spinning. There’s no Sin City 2 coming. They’re excessively excited about the prospect of doing it and making it all “this” or “that” and haven’t decided on anything. It almost sounds like a Terry Gilliam original: they have thoughts of it being so darn fantastic it’s unlikely it will ever reach theaters at all. The first one was actually a fairly simple and quick shoot as movies go. Ditch Jolie or any newer fancy celeb players. That will speed things up.

This isn’t anything new. Both the second and the third were announced right after the first one hit theaters. My understanding is that the core storyline of the second movie will follow “A Dame to Kill For” and maybe some of the shorts from “Booze, Broads and Bullets” but that it would also feature a pretty hefty portion of the film following Jessica Alba’s character in the aftermath of “That Yellow Bastard”, which is probably what L’Heuruex is referring to when he says that Frank Miller is writing an original screenplay.
