Oh and by the way: Tintin should be a mid-twenties dude, because he does get into fist fights and stuff. Think of an older Johnny Quest.

TINTIN used to be one of my favorite comics growing up. It was perfect for post-teens, and the stories were actually kinda exciting. I’m glad they’re going for THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN –not only one of my favorites but also one of the more succesful (sp?) stories.

I think the closest you can compare TINTIN is a cross between SHERLOCK HOLMES, INDIANA JONES and any good investigative journalist you can imagine. He’s a globe-trotting reporter that gets into adventures many times involving the local culture.

As for Pegg and Frost, c’mon — they’re perfect! Since this is motion capture, the dynamics between the two of them perfectly fit the Twins: bumbling, taking themselves too seriously, heart o’ gold. Trust me when I tell you, this will be a really cool movie!

I’m not sure of his exact age, but he always came across as mid to late teens to me.
Early twenties would be the limit I think.

Can anyone help me out with something – I’m not, as I said in the post, entirely familiar with the character and was wondering how old is he supposed to be? Does he HAVE to be played by a child actor in the film? Why can’t it be someone older, such as Pegg as robert(wolf) suggested, who plays him?

If they could make Pegg look really young again, then yes, much better Tintin.

I’m sure he and Frost could work together well enough to resemble the twins. They have known each other for years. But Frost had better lose some weight!

I agree blipvert.

I find the casting odd as Pegg and Frost look nothing alike. I would have cast Pegg as Tintin and used some effects to have two Frost’s on screen as Thomson and Thompson.

Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are awesome Comedic actors, one of my fav duos. As for TinTin, I remember reading them as a kid, but I don’t really recall any of the stories, I guess I had better do my research.
