Excellent! Lets hope they base it on the second game, I can’t see how it could be a direct sequel….anyways, it would be a mature, messed up direction for the sequel if they did base it on the game!

BEST NEWS OF THE YEAR for me lol

The games (1 and 2) were the scariest experiences of my life (along with Stephen King’s IT book and movie).

The movie is definitely one of the best video game adaptations ever. The camera angles, the city turning into “Silent Hill” version of the city, the creatures, etc. All perfect. The movie was not perfect, but neither was the game. Still in my top 5 fav movies/games.

But, if Christopher Gans does not come back I’ll be really worried. Gans is one of the most underrated directors out there right now (even though it takes him too long to make movies). Glad Avry is back, that’s a big BIG plus.

And NO MORE KIDS please!!! Silent Hill 2 had the perfect story that would work very well on screen. The game itself was like a movie.

Anyway, I could go on forever. Great news guys. Thanks!

Agree with ogb
Silent Hill for me is still the best game adaption ever, hands down!
The ending was beautiful and depressing enough to leave room for ones fantasy to come up with a good explanation waht just happened. I remember me and my friends talking for hours after the movie.
The visiuals = perfect. The story decently changed for the big screen. The acting could have been better here and there but overall im glad how it turned out.
Also please new story! The first one is done and I don’t want everything explained (that would just steal the whole mystery around the 1. movie). Give us something new based on the 2. Game or something completly new but please do not explain to much!!!!! Keep me thinkin about these movies when i go home =D

another agreeing with ogb.
I do not know why it was hated on so much, it faithfully adapted from the series and it was a great horror film.
I always thought that if they make a sequel then it would follow the story line of the 2nd game with Sean Bean’s father taking the role of main in the Silent Hill 2.
Gans has to come back for this sequel, it is a must!!!

It’d be great if they put in Pyramid Head in there also.

I forgot what his purpose was in SH2 but that scene in the game with Pyramid Head doing “things” with the manikins freaked me the hell out and stopped me from playing the game for a few months.

Btw, Sean Bean would be a great James from SH2. Maybe they could do a sequel where his wife and daughter are never found and years later he gets a letter from his “dead” wife (SH2 plot). I think that could work.

SK-47 says:

ogb, yes, that’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw the ending of the first film.
Sean Bean’s character would be James and they follow that storyline since it ties in what happened with this first film.
The one scene that really freaked me out was the scene where you are trapped in the rook with the cockroaches and you have to put in the correct combination of the lock. I was sweating trying to get out of that room.
And the mannequin hospital nurses were freaky as well, especially if you don’t have a flashlight.

I’ve never played any of the Silent Hill games but I’ve seen plenty of other people play certain parts though the games, definitely a creepy series. I thought the movie adaption was awesome, I hope they keep going this way and don’t screw this franchise like Hollywood has with pretty much all the others.

M-Cat says:

Was the first movie really any good? I can’t find much on it but it looked somewhat interesting. Is it worth renting on demand or video or just wait for it to show up on some cable channel?

@ m-cat

Definitely one of the best video game adaps (which isn’t saying much I know!) but you should definitely give it a go…

Not as scary as the games but still creepy as hell!
