It wasn't Knowles who outed the ending, it was his lady-in-waiting, Drew McWeeny AKA "Moriarty." Hopefully this will blow whatever minor amounts of street cred McWeeny had with Hollywood, and seal his fate as a permanent member of the Former Video Store Rental Clerks Union. McWeeny should be held accountable somehow for this travesty. An alternative would be to legalize nightstick sodomization....

It would take Shyamalan quite a bit of reshooting to surpass the all-time king of reshoots, Stanley Kubrick. Besides, do we even know for sure that The Village will have a surprise twist ending? Shyamalan's last film, Signs, didn't. The reshoot could just be to correct an inaccuracy or inconsistency.

Even if Harry Knowles has "pull" in Hollywood (which I'm not quite ready to concede he does), I wouldn't want my legacy to be one of forcing filmmakers to keep reshooting scenes because I couldn't keep my mouth shut. I wonder why the studios don't sue people who leak confidential information like that. They had no problem taking action against the people who pirated The Hulk and the Oscar screeners. Not the same thing, I know, but still...
