The first trailer for Shrek Forever After, the fourth installment in the Shrek franchise, has popped up online. We’ll direct you there in a second.

If you haven’t yet heard what the film is about, here’s quick rundown:

Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking deal-maker, Rumpelstiltskin (see pic above) and finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

Sounds like a good time (maybe). Without further delay, here’s a link to the HD trailer:

Yeah… I really liked Shrek and was even one of those people who enjoyed Shrek 2 even more than the first one. All I can say now is that its a damn shame that they didn’t quit after the second film…

Seriously, nothing in that teaser made me laugh, nothing got me excited, and before they dropped the whole “In 3D” line while showcasing a scene that clearly demonstrates just how gimmicky the 3D in this movie is going to be, I was already wondering to myself, “Is this some straight-to-DVD special I’m seeing, or an actual trailer for the film?”

Not to mention, the “story” for this film – which is hard to grasp from that teaser – is as ridiculous as they come. People are screaming that Avatar is a cliched story? I better see pitchforks and torches when this It’s a Wonderful Life knock off hits theaters. I can only hope that The Puss In Boots spin-off film is better than this.

  1. “Voice work will be done by Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, Eddie Murphy, Antonio Banderas, Julie Andrews, Justin Timberlake, Jon Hamm, Maya Rudolph, Amy Sedaris, Larry King, Regis Philbin, and Kathy Griffin.”

Because getting people who can actually enunciate is much less important than putting names on a marquee. *sigh*.

I agree with you Kofi, they should have stopped at 2. I personally think the first one is better, but did love the second and hardly cracked a smile in the third. This one… the trailer just confused me more than anything, nothing about it was funny as far as I could see.

  2. this is the kind of animated movie that can go on and on and on and on! just fix a bit with the characters, the story, and whosh u have a brand new animated movie!

and it will always be an entertaining movie for youngsters and the family and most likely make good money so they wont ever have to stop… yaaaaaaaaay
    oh well:\

  3. I liked the trailer and I think that this is going to be better than Shrek the Third. True, the first 2 are classics, but I do like the characters in these films, so it’ll be interesting (to me anyways) how this turns out.

  4. I’ll probably see this, but I’m not overly impressed with it at all. The third one was terrible. The first was great. The second wasn’t bad. This one looks like a steaming cow pie. They should have stopped when they were ahead.

  5. The reviews would have to blow me out of the water. Otherwise you would have to pay me to see it.

  6. Wow. This looks terrible, just like the third. There is no way I am going to see this.
Thanks so much for how you’ve recently started giving links for the trailers though, screenrant! The embedded videos will never work on my computer so this makes me very happy!

  7. I have only seen the first one and I loved it but this franchise just looks like its loosing steam.

  8. I really liked the first two movies. And I love the characters. I would probably see it, even if it doesn’t turn out to be that good.

  9. Hey Neontiger check
Does anything work there or are you just an Apple polisher?

  10. I also liked the 2nd one better than the first.
