 Shrek Forever After Image Gallery

Coming off the success of the critically acclaimed How to Train Your Dragon (see our review here), Paramount and DreamWorks Animation are beginning the big marketing push for their next release, Shrek Forever After. Recently, the companies released a whole crop of high-resolution images from the film featuring a mix of character posters and scenes from the movie.

We have compiled the images (which come our way thanks to Collider) into a handy gallery below. You can click each image for the high-res version.

Longing for the days when he felt like a “real ogre,” Shrek is duped into signing a pact with the smooth-talking deal-maker, Rumpelstiltskin (see pic above) and finds himself in a twisted, alternate version of Far Far Away, where ogres are hunted, Rumpelstiltskin is king and Shrek and Fiona have never met. Now, it’s up to Shrek to undo all he’s done in the hopes of saving his friends, restoring his world and reclaiming his one True Love.

To be honest, there’s not a lot that gets me excited about Shrek 4. However, I will say that the plot of the film sounds more promising than I would expect for the fourth film in a franchise, and looking at the detail in those high-res pics really gives you an idea of how far DreamWorks has come in the nine years since the first Shrek film was released.

What do you think of these images? Are you excited to see Shrek Forever After?

Shrek Forever After will make its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 21st. The film’s general release in both 3D and traditional 2D is on May 21st, 2010.

  1. The only thing i found interesting about these pictures is the fact the Antonio looks like Ian McKellen his beard like that. I wander how they are all getting payed for this cash grabs. Sorry to be so negative but the way dream-works treats films brings out the worst in me.

  2. No dragon?
