The 1980 classic psychological horror film The Shining is finally getting the Funko Pop! treatment with three new vinyl figurines. Produced and directed by Stanley Kubrick and co-written with novelist Diane Johnson, the film is based on Stephen King's 1977 novel The Shining and stars Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Danny Lloyd, and Scatman Crothers as the characters sucked into the haunted madness of the Overlook Hotel.

Considered to be one of the greatest horror movies of all time, the film tells the story of Jack Torrance (Nicholson) - who has been hired by the Overlook Hotel to be the winter caretaker during the hotel's off season. Jack brings his family, wife Wendy (Duvall) and their son Danny (Lloyd) who has telepathic abilities known as "Shining", to live at the hotel from October to May in total isolation from society - resulting in Jack developing cabin fever and going on a murderous rampage attempting to slaughter his family, just as the previous caretaker did.

In a new post from Pop Vinyls, we have a first look at the new The Shining Funko Pop! vinyl figurines of the Torrance family including Jack, Wendy and Danny. Check them out in the gallery below!

These Funko Pops! certainly aren't for the faint of heart. The first bloody figure of Jack shows the writer in his most crazed state during the final scenes of The Shining, when he's chasing his son Danny through the Overlook's halls and hedge maze with an axe. The next figure show Wendy during the moment she's begging for her life - holding a kitchen knife as her last line of defense against her husband in her bathrobe - and the last figure shows Danny during his famed 'REDRUM' scene holding a knife.

Along with fellow classic horror movie characters like Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, Freddy Kreuger, Pinhead, Leatherface and Chucky, it's fantastic that we are finally seeing some of Stephen King's most famous characters being immortalized in the Funko Pop! movie series. This also opens up the possibility of other The Shining characters turning into the collectable figures like Dick Hallorann, hotel manager Stuart Ullman, the creepy ghost twins, the ghostly bartender Lloyd, the former caretaker-turned-ghost Charles Grady, the horrifying rotting dead woman in room 237 - and maybe even that weird guy in the bear costume, forever imprinted in our minds.
