Chrishell Stause is opening up about coping with her divorce from Justin Hartley and how the Selling Sunset star used the divorce settlement and wedding ring to help buy a new home. Season 4 saw Chrishell purchase her first home as a single woman. It was a celebratory event for her after sharing her divorce in season 3. When coming up with the finances to afford her Hollywood Hills pad, Chrishell decided to get some use out of her old wedding ring.
Fans got an inside look at how Chrishell handled her divorce from This is Us star, Justin Hartley. She was nothing short of devastated after learning of her divorce through text message. Chrishell took some time off and spent time with her family while adjusting to the reality that her marriage was over. However, Justin didn't make the breakup easy for her after he quickly moved on with one of their mutual friends. Since the split, Justin and Sofia Pernas have gotten married and appear to be attached at the hip. Meanwhile, Chrishell has tried out two short-lived romances, with one being her boss Jason Oppenheim.
After the divorce, Chrishell found a good way to make use of her wedding ring by selling it and using the funds towards her $3.3 million Hollywood Hills home. “Sometimes life gives you lemons, sometimes you’ve gotta add a little vodka,” Chrishell jokingly said during her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “I was trying to, you know, make the best out of a situation.” Chrishell, who has taken subtle jabs at Justin, offered her praise to Kelly for making music that helped her get through the rough patch in her life. “Your music has gotten me through many breakups, so thank you for that. You’ve helped all of us,” the Netflix star said.
Chrishell and Justin finalized their divorce in 2021. Shortly after, he confirmed his marriage to Sofia, someone who had been a mutual friend from their soap opera days. Chrishell admitted to being a little bothered by their relationship when first learning about it. But she has continued to take the high road and avoids bad-mouthing her ex. After briefly dating Dancing With the Stars pro Keo Motsepe, Chrishell moved on with Jason Oppenheim a few months later. However, by December 2021, Chrishell and Jason called it quits after a few months of dating. It was their differences in starting a family that led to the breakup.
Now Chrishell will have to revisit her time dating Jason in Selling Sunset season 5. The new trailer teases all the upcoming drama that surfaced while they were dating and filming. If feelings are still there, Chrishell and Jason could end up rekindling their flame after watching their short-lived romance play out on the show. It would take a big commitment from Jason, but maybe he's up for the challenge. Insiders say he still is in love with Chrishell, and she's hinted at being jealous of him spending time with other women. All signs point to the possibility of a reconciliation.
