comic con crew meet up Comic Con 2011 Kick Off: Meet The Screen Rant Team Tonight!

If you’re a regular Screen Rant reader, you already know that every year we bring you awesome coverage of the San Diego Comic-Con. This year we’re pulling out all the stops with the biggest crew we’ve ever had! Above, left to right, site owner Vic Holtreman (me), Senior Editor Kofi Outlaw, Editor Rob Keyes, Editor Ben Kendrick, TV Editor Anthony Ocasio (yeah, he had to be “different”), our resident videographer Mike Eisenberg, and writers Paul Young, Roth Cornet and Mike Crider.

We’ll be bringing you all kinds of coverage, ranging from live-blogging panels for your favorite TV shows and movies, round table interviews, one on one video interviews with the biggest stars and directors of upcoming superhero and sci-fi movies and TV shows, daily wrap up commentary, reviews of movies screening at Comic-Con (Captain America and Cowboys & Aliens!) and lots, lots more.

In addition, Screen Rant will be represented (by me) on theĀ Masters of the Web panel (moderated this year by Avi Arad and Brian Taylor) on Thursday afternoon at 4pm in Room 5AB. At the panel we will be giving out some awesome prizes: Everyone attending will receive a $12 AMC card, and a few lucky attendees will win even better stuff – a one-year AMC Theatres card will be given away, but the best is three passes (each with a +1) to the exclusive Dusk ’til Con party!

We’ll be giving the event in-depth, extensive coverage so all of you who can’t make it out to sunny southern California will still be able to experience it through us, and impress your friends around the office with the latest news coming out of San Diego. However if you ARE attending the ‘Con, here’s your chance to meet most of the folks whose articles you read every day…

Meet the Screen Rant editors and writers

We’re having a “meet-up” at the Marriot Marina Hotel Bar (North Tower) at 10PM, tonight – and you don’t have to be 21, we’ll be hanging out in the lounge area. Our entire crew will be there and we encourage you to drop by, have a drink (sorry, we’re not buying) and introduce yourselves. Bonus: We won’t be the only movie website present – you’ll also be able to meet and hang out with Peter Sciretta of /Film and his writers, and Alex Billington of and his crew.

Here’s a map to the hotel, which when you’re facing the San Diego Convention Center, is on the right side.

So before the craziness begins on Thursday, drop by and say hello – we’d love to meet you!

  1. How cool! :] That’s roughly the time I should be rolling into San Diego tonight.. though I’m staying at the Hilton this year instead of Marriot, so I’ll have to see if I can make it!

    • Myzst,

We’re all staying at the Hilton Bayfront as well. :)

      • Oh, awesome! Last year the Marriot was amazing to stay in, so I’m excited to experience the opposite side at the Hilton :) Well, at least if I don’t make it tonight there’s a chance I’ll still bump into some folks in the hotel!

  2. I am definitely going to the Masters of The Web panel! Really looking forward to it! Will try and make the party tonight, sounds fun!

  3. Wow, that is a lot of staff! No wonder why the Game of Thrones casting wasn’t posted. Well have fun and I’m sure some awesome stuff will be posted this weekend!

  4. Looking at the pix it looks like some of you got an early start on the celebration. ;)

  5. Can’t wait to hear what you have to say guys. I’d give anything to go to it this year. The whole weekend just sounds amazing. I have never been before but may try for next summer with a friend of mine that has been to it and he had nothing but unbelievable things to say about it. Thank God for tv, satellite radio, and you guys for this years coverage. :-)

  6. I will see you there or I will see you on another timeā€¦

  7. Hopefully Kofi will actually have fun and not be negative the whole time.
