The original Scream is that rare example of a horror movie that did everything right. Half-satire, half-thriller, it was both critically and financially successful—the series has made over half a billion dollars altogether—and spawned two underwhelming sequels plus a plethora of heinous knockoffs. (Urban Legend, I’m looking in your direction…)

Despite years of insisting that number three would be the last of the Screams, in the past year, director Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson seemingly succumbed to massive paychecks and committed to a fourth. (Or, as those in the business refer to it, a “fourquel.”)

Now, straight from the set of Scream 4, Entertainment Tonight has video interviews with the cast and behind-the-scenes footage of Ghostface chasing people around in circles, as he is wont to do.

Check out the video below:

In the video, Courteney Cox reveals some minor plot details about her character, Gale Weathers, and her character’s husband, Dewey, played by her actual husband, David Arquette. Apparently, in the new movie, Gale has given up her career in broadcast journalism to marry Dewey and write books for a living.

"[Gale has] written six Stab books and she has writer's block, and she's pretty bored, pretty miserable, pretty desperate, and all of a sudden some murders start happening and her life starts to look up. She likes a good murder."

Though the video is lacking, content-wise, we do get to see cast additions Emma Roberts (Valentine’s Day) and Hayden Panettiere (Heroes) in action, as well as the obligatory scenes involving Ghostface trying and failing to stab Neve Campbell in the back.

Every Scream movie has seen the murders of some fairly famous celebrities before the opening credits. In the original, it was Drew Barrymore, cooking popcorn in her country home. In the sequel, it was Omar Epps and Jada Pinkett Smith at the movie theater, watching the diagetic film adaptation of the events of the original Scream - otherwise known as Stab. In the third, it was Liev Schrieber, who played reoccurring character and fameball, Cotton Weary. Though they were nowhere to be found in the above video, it’s been confirmed by Dimension Films that Anna Paquin (True Blood) and Kristen Bell (Veronica Mars) will provide the requisite pre-credit cameos this time around.

Meanwhile, as of yesterday, Scream 4 has officially wrapped. According to Wes Craven's Twitter feed:

“It's the end of the beginning, and the beginning of the end... That's a wrap on @Scream4!”

Scream 4, starring Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panetierre, Anna Paquin, Kristen Bell, Adam Brody, Rory Culkin, and many more, hits theaters April of next year, the scariest month of all. April showers bring May flowers, am I right?
