LOL, Original? It was the most derivative piece of crap I’d ever seen: and I saw it when it was new! It ripped off every horror film in the book. The writing was poor [Agatha Christie did it beter} and the acting was sloppy. Nice to see they’re all still milking this cash cow anyways, seeing as everything they’ve made since has flopped.

I’m excited. In the spirit of Halloween, I’ll probably watch Scream 1 – 3, being that I haven’t made any other plans tonight.

Whatever happened to Sydney’s father? I have a hunch that he might be the killer in Scream 4. Any thoughts?

It’s simple. This time it won’t focus on Sidney but an entirely new character.

It’s time for the second trilogy to come and bring fourth very badass modern original things.

Sidney will probably just make a cameo. And the ghostface killer obviously will be a character that’s after the new main chacter of the series for whatever reason. I have a hunch this goes back to high school.

I wouldn’t mind a fourth Scream, but who would be the killer ? That story line die whit the third movie, so unless Miss Campbell is the killer, I don’t see where it would go.

Evan’s comments are on point.I will also add that making a 4th movie is just irrelevant at this point,so you know that it’s just trying to cash in on the franchise,which got weaker as they went along,imo.

I loved the first “Scream.” It was very original and was timely when it came out, but the plot relied so much on the then-current changes in technology. With cell phones and caller ID just becoming mainstream technology at the time, it makes it harder for it be timeless. It is still awesome, but when you make technology part of a plot like that, it almost immediately becomes dated.

I can’t really see it as timeless the way I can something like “Halloween.”

“Scream” was a product of its times. The stars aligned for it to be really well received at that moment allowing for renewed interest in the then-dead slasher sub-genre.

To me, even with the original writer, cast, and director, you would have a tall order to measure up to the first one. Hard to be timely and scary and still be a slasher movie.

At least it isn’t being remade by Platinum Dunes.

I don’t know. I’m not big on 3D movies. I definitly want Wes Craven to be a part of it. I didn’t know that Neve had finally said yes. Last I heard she was the only one of the 3 that had said no. I’m glad she will be back it would have been weird if she hadn’t been it.
