Back in the 1980’s action movies used to be all action and very little talk. It was great, but these days it just seems like people talk about action movies and very little happens. Just look at the two Alien Vs Predator movies – great concept but a bit lacking on the execution.
Fans of both franchises have longed to see Sigourney Weaver return as Ellen Ripley (has it really been 11 years since Alien 4 ?) and Arnold Schwarzenegger reprise his role as Dutch from the original Predator. While Weaver has noted interest in another Alien film (along with Ridley Scott) it looked like there was no chance of seeing Arnold back in the camouflage fighting alien hunters in Predator 3.
Not so says Predator producer John Davis…

Davis says that he has talked to Schwarzenegger and the star has shown an interest in returning to films – if he doesn’t continue with his political career when his Governorship is over. Davis said:
“Well, the Governor has mentioned to me that when he ceases to be Governor, if he doesn’t run for the Senate and all of that stuff, he’d like to do a movie or two again. And I don’t know, maybe we could restart the Predator franchise.”
When pressed by Frosty at Collider.com for further details the producer said:
“Well we’d have to come up with a really good script and a really great angle on it, but Predator was the first movie I was ever involved with, so it’s always going to have a really soft spot in my heart.”
While not a confirmation that Schwarzenegger would be starring in another Predator film, it doesn’t look that it’s out of the realm of possibility. Also, now that it looks like the Terminator franchise has moved on without him, the aging action star may want to star in a sequel to another classic film with “brand name recognition.”
Moviehole points out that a couple of years ago a spec (non-sanctioned) script did the rounds that featured Dutch battling a Predator in a snowy New York, but alas nothing ever came of it.
However, with this new information giving us a new hope – might Arnold really be back?
Wouldn’t that be cool!

I think at this point, I’d take Arnold in ANY action flick – So I’m all for any of those crazy ideas above
I think that Predator 3 will be so cool if Arnold returns as Dutch after he’s done with politics. I don’t think that he’ll have any trouble getting back into shape for this movie.
Arnold is one of the best action movie heroes ever, period!!! We didn’t see a bare-chested Rambo in the last installment, so have Arnold keep his shirt on, no big deal. I say I couldn’t wait to see Arnold return to the series…
Arnold dosn’t need to get in shape, remember Danny Glover in Predator 2. If Danny can take on a predator in a kind of sherlock homes way, then an old Arnold with the know how can take one out too. Plus if the script is set in a cold freezing environment then he doesn’t need to take his top off to show his body. Plus i think he should either have Vin Diesel in the movie with him or Jason Statham. It should be an All Out Action movie, not a follow the trail crime investigation, or a geek filled SciFi.
This is how i would like the story to be: the army go into an area where there’s Predator trouble. Hugh Jackman is the commander in charge. The Pentagon know about the first predator(s) and all about arnold. So they call for him as he’s the only one who took it out one to one, so they call him to help them out.
Arnold agrees only if he’s in charge of the unit out there, and he’s provided with the necessary weapons. That’s when tings get messy, Hugh and Arnold need to survive.
Skynet you talk about which actors could be in the movie well my take on it is that Vin is ok, but i don’t like his acting. he’s not a good actor you see, Hugh on the other hand is a much more versatile actor. Him paring up with Arnold would be better, and i’m also not so sure about Jason (as he’s English it wont really work).
Ron Perlman is a better bet, as he’ll suit the role and would pair excellently with Arnold. I think in Predator 3 we need to form the special team of fighters. So there should be a big star cast.
Schwarzenegger is an icon in action-stuff…at least with the looks he had in the old days…if you wanna see an old tired man fight it out , take clint eastwood…don’t take vin diesel or jean claude van damme to replace Schwarzie: they’re acting is not viscious enough to succeed in putting down a decent caracter…what was the guy’s name who played “the marine”?John Cena?He’s top quality for this stuff!
