Scarlett Johansson As Black Widow Concerns Drop Slightly

When Scarlett Johansson was announced as the actress to play the Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and other Marvel universe films, fans were NOT happy. If you look at the image above, it’s pretty obvious why.
But at least as far as visually, things are looking up – When she recently showed up in London at Moet and Chandon: A Tribute to Cinema party, Scarlett was looking considerably more like the Russian spy that we’ve come to know.

So what do you think? Are things looking up in regards to Scarlett Johansson as the Black Widow in Iron Man 2 and possibly The Avengers?

I’m one of the few that think she will do well at least, but she definitely has the look now. Very much looking forward to some action clips to see hear skills.

Honestly, I think she’s a great choice. I wasn’t really concerned about the look. She’s a great actress and I can’t wait to see her play the Black Widow.
I gotta say, I wasn’t all that concerned about her look. I knew she was a natural red, but I am concerned with her acting chops. Vixen and frequent Russian Spy is difficult to pull off. Has she played anything remotely close to a double-0?
Milla Jovovich. Looks the part, is used to these kinds of action roles, young, beautiful, good acting skills, and from the Ukraine. She pretty much IS the Black Widow.
It isn’t just about looks which Scarlett has regardless of her hair color..
It’s also about being able to pull off the action scenes. Widow is VERY physical in the comics, even acrobatic at times.
Hopefully they won’t have Scarlett just standing around as eye candy with lingering shots of those wonderful curves in that wonderful outfit.

The problem with the article title is that I don’t think anyone was concerned about her looks in terms of playing the part. So concerns can’t “drop slightly” because she isn’t a blond anymore, because no one was worried about that in the first place.

I would think that her “look” was a part of the issue. Not all of it, but certainly a part of it.

actually, a lot of people were complaining about her looks. So the title does make sense, now that she has the looks, the concerns have dropped SLIGHTLY.
All I can say is, she’s always had the bust to match any gravity-defying comic book femme fatale. In fact, just look at that first image comparison in the article. Why on earth was anyone worried about a $5-box-of-hair-color’s difference when she clearly has the right body?
In my opinion, she could be excellent. She might not be the most athletic actress around, but her husky voice is exactly what I have in my mind for Black Widow.

), she was also very “soft” looking – but I’ve read that she’s slimmed down recently, no doubt for the role.
