Savannah Chrisley has opened up about how her mom and Chrisley Knows Best star Julie Chrisley is dealing with life in prison. Julie and her husband, Todd Chrisley, were sentenced to seven and 12 years in prison, respectively, after being found guilty and convicted of bank and tax fraud offenses. The couple began their sentences on January 17. Todd is serving his sentence at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola, Florida, while his wife was meant to serve her sentence at the Federal Correctional Institution Marianna but reported first to a federal medical center in Kentucky.

Since Chrisley Knows Best's Todd and Julie Chrisley began their sentences, there has been much interest in how they are coping with prison life. The couple's daughter, Savannah, gave an insight into that subject during the January 31 episode of her Unlocked podcast.

Savannah revealed that her mom and dad were doing really well. She gave further insight into her mom's well-being, saying, "She's going to church, she's working, she's playing some Spades—and when I tell you she’s playing, she’s running a dog on everyone." Afterward, Savannah added that it made her heart happy to know her parents are okay.

In addition to Julie's activities in prison, Savannah also shed light on Todd's prison life. She revealed that Todd is working in the chapel, adding that she was proud of him and the man he is. The 25-year-old said, "I get to hear all these people's stories and how he's affecting their life and encouraging change." Savannah also revealed that her father encouraged his fellow inmates to know Jesus, which puts her at peace and lets her know her parents are okay. She concluded, "This isn't the ideal situation, but we find strength in knowing this isn't the end." Savannah further revealed that Todd communicates with the family via email and gets to see him, which she is forever grateful for.

Having one's parents serve jail time can be a tumultuous experience. Hence, one can understand why Savannah feels the way she does amid her parents' incarceration. However, she and the rest of the Chrisley family are finding joy in the little things and in knowing Todd and Julie are doing well in prison and gradually adjusting to life in jail. These are still early days, but with this mentality, Todd, Julie, and their kids can gradually navigate this difficult phase. The family needs to be strong and hold onto each other during this period, and they are doing just that.

Meanwhile, Todd and his wife would be delighted knowing their family is keeping tabs on them and concerned about their well-being. Only last week, Lindsie Chrisley and Nanny Faye visited Todd in prison. There will undoubtedly be more such visits in the coming months and years. Such actions will fill the Chrisley Knows Best patriarch and matriarch with the strength they need to carry out their sentences and learn from their mistakes. Hopefully, the Chrisley family would come out of this difficult phase stronger and more united.
