Linda Hamilton… What a woman.
Not only did she have the courage to marry James Cameron, she also had the cojones to turn down Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
Of course no doubt part of the reason she had the cojones to turn down Terminator 3 was because she’s financially set for the rest of her life - having had the courage to divorce Cameron.
Yeah, who hasn’t divorced James Cameron? The guy has been married a billion times. Did I just hear my Avatar premiere tickets getting shredded?
Anyway, I’m getting off topic here - yesterday word spread through the internet like wildfire that Hamilton would be reprising her signature role. Sorry Silent Night fans, it’s not Elisabeth Vincken in Silent Night 2. We’re talking Sarah Connor in Terminator Salvation.
There’s just one problem.
It isn’t true.

Pause.com spoke to a “studio source” who said that Hamilton would be playing Sarah Connor during flashback sequences in the McG-directed flick, and that she had signed a three picture deal to boot. After posting the story, Pause.com then decided to contact Hamliton’s people who said she hadn’t heard jack about the film, but:
“I can tell you that Linda is a big fan of T1 and T2 and would be very interested in hearing about participating in the new film.”
Ouch. That’s gotta hurt.
That’s the problem with the internet, once something goes out there - it ain’t coming back!
Screen Rant may not break a lot of news, but we do try to make sure it’s accurate.
Of course Jonathan Nolan is on-set slaving away on the script for Terminator Salvation, and therefore Sarah Connor could show up in the final film. It’s possible Hamilton could be approached to play the part once more… it just hasn’t happened. Yet.
I’ve just got one thing to say about all this:
Hey, Jonathan! Why the hell aren’t you writing the next Batman movie?

Good to see Linda has a bit of class and isn’t just in it for the money. She did right to quit when she was ahead and go out on the high note of T2
I hope that they at least get her to do some narration. It’s not like she has to see Cameron again. Number three seemed flat without her. The musical score for three was very minimal too. The signature theme only being played at the very end of the movie.
I read that Linda didn’t do T3 because she felt she couldn’t pull off the look she had in T2, and didn’t want to be the nagging mommy to John anymore.
I wonder if Ed Furlong will be asked to be in T4 ??
T3 sure would have been better with him…
Btw, He couldn’t pass the physical. Damm I liked that kid.
Have you seen Ed Furlong recently man?
He looks like a fat drunken slob 24-7. And there’s good reason he aint in films anymore, lol.
I don’t think Hamilton will be in any of these films…it wouldn’t make much sense, and sure as hell not a 3-film deal…could you imagine all the films having flashbacks to her…how exciting would that be…ya, heh
Lol Rob, that’s too bad about Ed,,,
And yeah your right about flashbacks, I really think there milking a dead cow with this future war 3 parter.
I agree 790.
But maybe Salvation will be a good popcorn movie anyway.
That is my hope at least.
I think think they’re milking a deadcow. If this was a film with Hamilton and about ANOTHER terminator unit coming back in time to assassinate her or her son, then that would be milking the cow for sure.
This is good I think. Salvation is about Connor becoming the leader and starting the resistance. The second film may be about him as leader and maybe seding back Reese to save his mom and reprogramming the t-800 unit. And the 3rd film in this trilogy will hopefully be about the war ending, the machines or the humans winning (hopefully that’s the case and not some alliance thing like the matrix).
i am pump’ed up for salvation.
but,i was hearing roumers about the studio attempting to cross the TV show into the movie. and i say !!NO!!
honestly,i don’t like the show,
1:because it makes no sense with the preivious films what so ever.
how the hell could they go to 2007 if the war began in 2003.going by the films.
and if i do recall all T-800 & T-1 models where modeled after SGT.CandY. (fans will understand the SGT.CANDY thing.)
in other words why would skynet make a small teen-ish model.if all were manufactured to be killing Machines y make a smaller model of the original
T-800.
and also if all the events happen in the show wouldent john conner in rise of the machines would be aware of the teen model
and not bee suprised about the
ARNOLD T-1 model “in the third film” to not rember that there are more than 1 type of terminator model.
“excluding(the T-1000 & T-X{terminatrix}”
The only reason Linda didn’t do t3 was because there was no Cameron, and anyone knows that Terminator is Cameron. I mean, he should at least write the damn scripts and anyone could direct…
Overmatik, were did you hear that ?
Linda Hamilton stated in Variety that she didn’t want to be the nagging mom to John anymore and also wasn’t physically in shape to pull it off.
