The biggest pop culture convention in the country, San Diego Comic-Con is right around the corner, and in the weeks leading up to July’s big show, the schedule of events for the 4-day convention is starting to come together.
Already, Warner Bros. has revealed their film (The Hobbit, Jupiter Ascending, Mad Max: Fury Road) and television (Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, Constantine) plans. Marvel has also announced their television panels which include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and Agent Carter.
Disney and Lucasfilm have announced that Star Wars Rebels will have a presence at this year’s Comic-Con, while Star Wars: Episode VII will not. Expect more announcements in the coming days, but there’s strong evidence to suggest Ant-Man and Fantastic Four will also be appearing.
Now, the full schedules for Thursday, July 24th, Friday, July 25th, and Saturday, July 26th have been released. Thursday panels include The Giver, Hannibal, Teen Wolf, Community, and Penny Dreadful; Friday includes Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, The Legend of Korra, The Maze Runner, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D; and Saturday includes Mad Max 4, The Hobbit Part 3, The Flash, Gotham, and hopefully The Avengers 2 and Batman v Superman.

The Heroes of ‘Star Wars Rebels’ 6:00pm – 7:00pm, Room 6BCF
The almost 20-year stretch of ‘Star Wars’ history between ‘Episodes III’ and ‘IV’ is a dark time in the galaxy that has never before been explored on screen. The evil Galactic Empire has tightened its grip and only a select few are brave enough to stand against tyranny and ignite a rebellion. Join ‘Star Wars Rebels’ executive producers Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg as well as series stars Freddie Prinze, Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar, and Taylor Gray for an exclusive preview of what’s to come this Fall on Disney XD in this eagerly awaited television series from Lucasfilm Animation.
Obviously, we’re still waiting on the details for the Paramount Pictures’ panel (expect to see some Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles footage), but The Giver – based on Lois Lowry’s celebrated novel – is probably the biggest feature film of the day. And while Thursday evening’s Goonies Never Say Die panel isn’t about the (supposedly) forthcoming Goonies sequel, it could provide some insight into the project.
Ballroom 20 will definitely be hopping, as it’s hosting panels for shows with cult followings like Community, Hannibal, and Teen Wolf. Animation fans should pay attention to a few of the smaller panels scheduled throughout the day as it appears these could be good opportunities to get an early look at a few upcoming cartoons and animated features – namely, Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Big Hero 6, and the aforementioned Star Wars Rebels.
San Diego Comic-Con 2014 will take place from July 24 – 27th in San Diego, CA.
