As much as I think Kirsten Dunst and Toby Maguire are talented actors, I have never really taken to them as Peter Parker & Mary Jane.

Sure they played their roles well, but IMHO I find Tobey Maguire TOO short, TOO goofy looking and TOO nerdy in his acting as Peter Parker; and Kirsten Dunst was NOT as vivacious, or as uninhibted and perky as the MJ from the comic books.

Personally, I would have preferred a Gwen Stacey story line with MJ added a couple of movies down the track after the Green Goblin kills off Stacey (or is that being too nostalgic)?

Even though I’m probably in the minority here, I for one would welcome a total reboot of the Spiderman franchise with a new director and a new cast.

One more thing. They don`t have to give them all the exact abilities they have , it just needs to be able to pretty much sneak up on Spiderman somehow and have plenty of speed.
And they have such a simple weakness, which is the vibration from sonics.

i think it`s really the way they WRITE it, just because he`s such a major villain doesn`t mean it`s an aUTOMATIC tradgety, it just takes more writers to make a great story with symbiote enemies. And it just takes time to see how the screenplay works. WHY WOULD SAM RAIMI PARTICULARLY HATE A VILLAIN, THAT`S KIND OF FRIGHTENING, WHY DOES HE CARE WHAT VILLAIN(S) HE`S USING, THAT`S SUCH AN UNNATURAL DISPATCH, IS IT BECAUSE ACCORDING TO HIS ANGLE ALL THEY DO IS GET MORE AND MORE MINDLESS? WELL WHEN CREATING VILLAINS THE COMIC BOOK WRITERS ALWAYS FIND A WAY TO CAREFULLY MAKE THESE VILLAINS SET A REALISTIC AND NOT TOO COMPACTED WIN/LOSE COMPETITION GOAL WHEN PLAYING AGAINST SPIDERMAM, I REMEMBER THEY HANDLED IT IN ONE OF THE CARTOONS, AND CARNAGE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE DONE JUSTICE IN AN R-RATED FILM, JUST BECAUSE HE`S A MURDEROUS SYCHOPATH DOESN`T MEAN HE CAN`T BE INTERESTING AND COMPLEX IN A LESSER-TONED PG-13 MOVIE, COME ON, WHAT WOULD SHOW THE MEANING OF ALREADY USING VENOM IF NEITHER HIM OR CARNAGE COME TO THE BIG SHOWDOWN ON ONE OF THESE NEXT FEATURE DATES, ALSO SPIDERMAN HAS ALREADY FACED A VERY CHALLENGING TEAM OF 3 VILLAINS AND IN THE FINAL MOVIE SM HAS TO FACE HIS BIGGEST BATTLE, NOT DOING ANY MORE SYMBIOTES ISN`T GOING TO SAVE THE FRANCHISE, AND VENOM ISN`T THE REASON WHY SM3 WAS A DISASTER, IT`S THE FACT THAT 2 OTHER VILLAINS THAT DIDN`T FIT WITH HIM TOGETHER WERE SHOVED IN, THAT`S WHY, SANDMAN WAS A VERY HARD VILLAIN TO CREATE, SO NEITHER HIM OR VENOM FITTED WILL WITH 2 OTHER VILLAINS. WHAT KIND OF WORLD IS THIS???????????????????????????? WHAT, I GUESS THERE`S NO WAY FOR THE FRANCHISE TO RECOVER FROM SM3??? NOW WHAT????? REBOOT???????????????????

Matt Keith, what exactly do you mean the ACTING in Sm3 was awful???
And i even read the Sm3 wikepedia and under PRODUCTION and it only said that Avi Arad recommended him to do Venom it didn`t say that he forced him to. I think it was basically just the fans who were really hyper so maybe it was just the fact that he didn`t UNDERSTAND(as what i heard) him well enough was the reason why he had no spirit for the idea. WHAT ARE PEOPLE TALKING ABOUT THEY FORCED HIM TO DO IT??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That`s ******** silly, i don`t think he HATES him, i think it`s just the fact he didn`t know him enough was why he couldn`t take it into a shot. guys, it`s the FOURTH movie, so using only one villain wouldn`t fill up how long someone should wait for something to come. Also even though lately i realized how Spiderman 3 didn`t turn out the way i first thought, i still knew that any 2 of those 3 villains could`ve done a movie well and i saw with the way it was producted it still would`ve made an awesome movie. Guys, 2 villains wouldn`t be too many, and also there needs to be a team in the final movie that would be more challenging than the teams of villains that has gone already in each of all the previous films. One villain just won`t cut it, also there`s really not enough action going on with just that one villain in all the films, i mean, WHAT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER VILLAINS. There are so many interesting plots with all the villains in the comics, so why just let it hide there when you know what it`d be like on the REAL screen? I just can`t feel enough excitement with one villain, and i used to not be a fan of Rhino, Vulture, or Shocker, and other villains like that, but i see how all the villains work, so i really don`t mind any villain, except Kraven. I`d choose Scorpion and Lizard for this one, but can someone PLEASE explain to me what is so great about the KRAVEN/LIZARD…?

So really, why would 2 villains be too much for them?

yeah, maybe she should return, but just for a short role, focus on spider-man and the villains, and don’t make it a dark film either, spider man 3 tried that, look what happened

Just putting in my “2 cents” about the MJ question: I loved the MJ character AND Dunst in the role. I’m excited about a Spider-Man 4 & 5 and I hope to see MJ (and Dunst) with a significant presence/role in both movies!

I got a idea. Lizard Is Introduced at the beginning somehow and A little after the beginning kraven shows up and hunts spidey. Spidey Does know who hired kraven. Towards the end spiderman has a huge fight with lizard and kraven and lizard flees. kraven reveals who hired him. Norman Osborn. hes set up for next movie.That Could happen. Or… either you see lizard Says “gotta find doc ock” or somebody mentions cletus casudy

Wow, couple weeks later no one comments. I do think they should bring venom back. He was in there not long enough, and supposed to be all plural like “We are venom]”, and stuff like that. Carnage would be an excellent character, I mean, c’mon, the dudes a psychopath from prison, how can you not be cool with that?

Another villan they could introduce is good ‘ol Scropion. He would be a fan-favorite, or I would think.

Maybe I sound like a nerd by saying this, but they could use some of the villans from WoS. Not saying to rip it off or anything, but there’s Rhino, the Vulture, and so on. I think it was cool to have Harry as the “New Goblin”. To see Spider-man being teamed up with another hero would be very nice. Like they could put in Black Cat as a helpful partner kicking super-powered bad guys (not necessarily playing as a side-kick) then leave shortly after that w/ some drama in the play indicating that Spidey has another problem to worry about, a chick who is a theif and has a major thing for him.

One alone? That might just kill the drama guys. Come on, every Spidey fan is anticipating lots of villains these days (thanks to Raimi). Spidey can take ‘em on. But I guess that your opinions count just as mine does. But I think my idea is way cool.
