I think Ellen Page is pretty likely to win, just because it's the sort of "hip" movie that allows the academy to retain its street cred. Many of the other nominations are movies that barely anyone saw.

I recently saw Ellen at the Critics Choice awards. She looks like she's maybe 17 years old. I believe she was up for that award and didn't win. I'm almost certain that this is her first major role in film.
^
IMO, too young, too inexperienced and she should be happy she was nominated at all. Juno as a film is nothing more than a dressed up after school special. This film was made a success by every teenage girl in America and a few Arrested Development fans.
Its a fluke and a sad year for films.
^
I don't have the list right in front of me but I'm sure you can scroll down the Best Actress list and find another actress that's more deserving.

The last time a under 18 year old was nominated it was Haley Joel Osment for Sixth Sense. He did a spectacular job and he didn't win.

Insiders all say it was because he was too young and they didn't want to ruin his carreer by giving him an Oscar this quickly.

Receiving an Oscar at too young an age can sometimes ruin a career.

Marlee Matlin,never heard of her...
^
I'll be the first to congratulate you Niall if your right but I don't think she has a chance.

Ellen is just about the same age as the youngest winner of the Best Actress award for 1986's "Children Of A Lesser God": Marlee Matlin, who was 21.
