Rob Keyes, Sandman and Venom are not “over the top villains” they were just over the top for the 3rd movie. Maybe saving them as the only villains for Sm4 would have skylaunched everything better.

I would Love to see a Spider-Man 4 Movie also… I mean with the Lizard guy in it… That would be so cool… But in reality… I want to see “Evil Dead 4″ First… I mean Sam needs to make it 1st.. Bruce Cambell isnt getting any Younger now is he ???
“Evil Dead” is my Fav. Horror Movie to date… Please Sam??? Do another “Evil Dead” Movie soon… But please leave the comedy out of it… Do the 4th instalment like the 1st one was… with “Pure Horror”…

I’m still thinking about Spider-Man 4,by the time it comes out it’s going to be almost a decade since the first movie,like Batman…a change of focus/director/cast would freshen things up…Sony are gambling here bringing back the old cast & crew…if it sucks…we might not see Spidey back for a long time!!!
Iron-Man has shown how Marvel movies should be made….and the way we got to see Tony Stark inside the suit was clever…mabey we could get a similar angle with Peter behind the mask.
I’m just getting the feeling that the makers of the next Spidey don’t really know what they’re doing now with the films so they’re sticking with the old guard!

We had over-the-top villains last time around with shape-shifting Sandman and Venom – but if you’re looking for that, I think The Lizard fits the bill even more than Vulture.

The thing with Morbius is that he can help make the film darker and add a little suspense and mystery to the movie if done right – Also, he’s the no-brainer pairing with The Lizard which I think would make for a create Spider-Man film resurgence.

Why is no one talking about Vulture? WAY better than Morbius. With Morbius, you have the fear that you’re mixing genres. In the first 2 SM films, Raimi was able to construct FANTASTIC over the top villains… try it again! I say Vulture or Scorpion… you can STILL have someone sucking the life out of people… and it won’t be Dunst!

I don’t think Raimi should be let anywhere near spiderman again after the **** that was S3. Yes some people don’t rate venom, but to me and lot of other fans he’s up there as one of the greatest villians of all time! On a proffesional level, how raimi let the script get on the screen is astonishing!

As for Kirsten, she was good in the first two movies, likeable if not desirable, but by S3 she looked worn out like too much partying, too much men and too much sniff etc….

Or it was the poor script making her that why!

Dunst should have a very MINIMAL role, basically; “Peter, I got a job on a soap opera in Hollywood and I am leaving.” THAT’S IT!! I thought Dunst was HORRIBLE as MJ, she’s the Smallville Lana Lang on the big screen!!

S3 was easily the worst of the movies, but it wasn’t the worst superhero movie ever made, either. I think if Raimi returns to the S2 formula, this could get the franchise back on track. Although I am not sure how much longer Tobey can be Spidey without some CGI to de-age him. I’d love to see The Lilzard and Morbius as the next villain, with Kingpin in the shadows for a potential 5th movie with villains like Electro, Rhino, etc.

(If you remember the premise of the film you’ll get it)

I would love to see a Spidey film where Spidey catches villain after villain, starting with Rhino and ending with a sweet battle with Kraven. The first hour would be Spidey catching Rhino, Shocker, and Scorpion, with the Kingpin behind it all. The final battle would be the last hour, hour and 1/2, where Spidey is fighting Kraven. MJ can be in the first 10 minutes, AND THAT’S IT FOR HER! No frakking whiney dancing blubbering crap!

if mj is not in it. I wouldn’t mind seeing some sparks between Peter & Betty but like everybody else I agree, the romance has to take a back seat. Better yet Peter & Betty could be thrust into a daily bugle situation together that is actually part of the main plot.

My gut feeling over Spider-Man 3 was Raimi’s big F-U to sony. Think about it, he wanted to do his story but the Studio intervened and said they wanted Venom and so on. So, Raimi with all the toys at his disposal gave a subtle “screw with me, I’m gonna screw with you” to Sony. Kinda makes sense.

I would love to see the Kingpin as the main antagonist vs. Justin Hammer(Silvermane) with the Scorpion, Rhino and Tombstone as the muscle with Spiderman in the middle trying to stop it all. I mean doesnt anyone want to see the classic villains. And since they’re two movies based one story arc it should be able to handle multiple villains. Spiderman has a much more impressive rouges gallery than just Venom and Carnage and they would do well to utilize it.
