i have no problem with color, but i do have a problem when hollywood changing the character to drastic measures, and i think changing the color of the character is very drastic.

Nick Fury’s color matters not one bit. Black or white, it’s the attitude of the character that is needed. Just like in Daredevil (although it was mediocre), a black Kingpin worked out just fine. I’m glad Sam Jackson is back in the films, but it really doesn’t mean THAT much. The consistency from IM is nice though.

I’ll love to see some SHIELD movies.

And I’m glad they got Sam Jackson back. Considering the movie character is based on the Ultimate Marvel version of Fury, and that Fury is based on Sam Jackson, it seems stupid to recast the character.

If for some reason Jackson wasn’t going to be Nick Fury, they might as well make the character similar to the main universe version (not Hasselhoff, please).

I quite agree with most of the people on here,but IMO This version of Nick Fury is the glue or thread that holds together the expanded story arc,based upon the Ultimates storyline.

sorry guys, i should have been more clearer. what i meant was having cap easter eggs in the movie, not actually cap himself because of the upcoming movie for cap. but let’s face it, you can’t talk about ww2 in the marvel univese without having some reference to Captain America. as for fury i think they may have him in one scene, and it be a quick scene. this would not interfere with fury being in wolverine’s movie if the use the original nick fury. the nick fury they are going with in iron man 2 is nick fury from mavrel ultimates (totally different class). if not, they will probably just mention fury’s name without showing us a face.

I personally have mixed feelings about this. I kinda want to give sammy a chance to do better than S.O.A.P. but I dont want these nine movies to be real cliche sammy. My fingers are crossed.

This is good news. Even if you don’t like SLJ, he does make a good Nick Fury.

Why-Oh-Why did Marvel do Cappaccino? Why did Marvel go with the Ultimates version? What pull does Mark Millar have?
Still, I agree with Evie, so far Jackson’s now only plays that Angry Black Man character than the diversed roles he used to play. Key words “used to”, even Chappelle made fun of it, remember? “Why can’t I stop screaming?”

I for one am not happy… mostly cuz I have to hear my bf complain about it. He says (and I have to agree) that Sam Jackson can only play one role: angry black man.

I guess we’ll see how it turns out.
