A PlayStation 5 trophy list for Saints Row: The Third Remastered has remerged via Exophase, hinting at a future release on current-gen platforms. Another re-release of the third entry wouldn't come as too much of a surprise. Developer Volition previously confirmed that work had begun on a fifth mainline installment, which rumors suggests will serve as a direct sequel to Saints Row: The Third.

THQ Nordic first made mention of the next Saints Row project in the summer of 2019, merely noting that Volition was "deep in development" at the time. Volition corroborated as much not too long thereafter by telling fans to expect something "big, bold, and very badass." Apart from the aforementioned sequel rumors, no other concrete details have surfaced in the long span of time since the publisher's and the developer's initial teases. The brand itself can't sit still, though. THQ Nordic launched Saints Row: The Third Remastered in May 2020 on PC via the Epic Games Store, PS4, and Xbox One. Meanwhile, the remaster's Steam release is set for this coming May 22. There's an F. Gary Gray-directed Saints Row film adaptation in the works, too, though information on it also remains rather nebulous.

Recently, an update on Exophase, spotted by PlayStation LifeStyle, revealed a PlayStation 5 trophy list for Saints Row: The Third Remastered. This indicates the 10-year-old open-world title is on its way to Sony's latest console, though it seems safe to assume an Xbox Series X|S version may also be in the works. A total of 80 trophies fill out the list, including those for Saints Row: The Third's various DLC packs - Genki Bowl VII, Gangstas in Space, and The Trouble With Clones - each of which features 10 trophies.

Neither THQ Nordic nor Volition have announced a current-gen port for this particular Saints Row adventure. It's not beyond the realm of possibility, though; the trophy list on Exophase gives credence to that much. And since this November marks the game's 10th anniversary, now seems as good a time as any to shine a spotlight on the Third Street Saints.

Apart from a remastered release and talks of a movie, Saints Row IV and its remaster have served as the brand's only other major developments since Saints Row: The Third's original launch. (Minus the Agents of Mayhem spinoff, of course.) Thus, Saints Row faithful are eager to return to the over-the-top open-world. It remains to be seen how much longer the wait may last.
